Leeds Bradford airport rip off

People here keep repeating that companies can charge whatever they want.
If so, asda could have charged 100000000000000 for a can of lager.
Thus the statement that companies can charge whatever tHey want for their products does not hold true.
But you are not saying why they cannot charge 1 and all the zero's for it?
If you can back it up with some legislation, you may have a better argument0 -

just to shut this ejit up.
I'll cover any legal costs from doing so :rotfl::rotfl:
I have done it today in my fireplace shop.
I had numerous people popping in and asking what I was doing.
I did sell a £1500 fireplace to one couple though who came in to ask about it, was frightened they were going to ask to pay with 2000 tins of beans !:rotfl:
I think perhaps it is time for everyone to put dfh2012 on ignore and get his kicks elsewhere.
Any bean related jokes anyone?0 -
Not many jokes about beans.
Here is a bad one.....
''Why does Irish chilli have only 239 beans?
Because if it had one more, it’d be too farty.''
Any more?0 -

I am yet to see a supermarket sell a can of beans for 100000000000, a loaf of bread for 10000000000.
Until that happens , it is not true that companies can charge whatever they want for their products.
Thats a good point. I've never thought of that before but you are right. It must be true that companies can't charge whatever they want for products otherwise obviously they would charge millions of pounds for bread. It would make no business sense not to. The profit margins would be huge. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Yes you are right, I am guessing that there is also a law that shops can't give away all their products either. I haven't seen Sainsburys offering all their products for free so it must surely be illegal for them to do so.0

There is also a law in the UK which basically states that morons are not allowed access to internet forums.
Unfortunately this is one law that doesn't get enforced enough.0 -
East Midlands airport has also introduced a similar £1 fee. However the shuttle bus service from the long stay car park is free - and shown on their web site.

Birmingham has an expensive drop off car park also, I use it twice a week.2 angels in heaven :A0

Ahh... that pork argument is very convincing. You are absolutely right, they cannot charge what they like, they can only get a sale at a price that is agreeable by buyer and seller.
It is certainly legal for them to have any item they like for sale at any price they like though.Thinking critically since 1996....0
