Ahh... that pork argument is very convincing. You are absolutely right, they cannot charge what they like, they can only get a sale at a price that is agreeable by buyer and seller.

It is certainly legal for them to have any item they like for sale at any price they like though.

I think that's the point that people have been making, it's only market forces that keep prices low: businesses can charge what they like- but will not sell their product/service if it is priced to highly for the customer.

turn around and run - and don't look back!
You won't get out alive - certainly not with your sanity intact!
  • Some of us, dfh for instance, arrived at the thread without their sanity so you'd be in good company.

dfh2012, I have reported your pathetic repeat posts in the hope that someone kicks you off MSE. The OP has asked a question and you've hijacked the thread to play some kind of dumb game that only you understand. Please do everyone a favour and go away.

If it was so, we would have seen a ridiculous scenario of telco charging 1000000000 for a tin of baked beans.

Well seeing as Telco is a German store who only sell mobile phones, you can't buy baked beans there at any price so your argument is pointless.

Does anybody really consult airport websites before dropping somebody off to find out whether they will be charged for spending 2 minutes letting a passenger out of the car without even switching the engine off? I don't think so. Like me, you learn the hard way.

    ....

TBH these days I would - but that needs the knowledge that some do charge, which is obviously not universal
