  • im also a previous muddy puddle customer and have been happy with my past orders, but like many others will NOT be using them again, which is a shame as i always buy my kids snow boots from them.

they cant just take peoples money, refund in drips and drabs to everyone with no explanation or even an email to say they are partially refunding!! then to stop their customer service contact number is terrible! people need to know whats happening and to shut off contact via phone and email is just not on.
    **Waiting for a BIG win!**

    Thank you all posters!

  • My order from the 7th is still being 'packed' as of this morning.

Forgive me if I am being thick here, but how could they have 'massively oversold' sale items - either you have it so sell or you don't. Whatever happened to stock control? I can't see any excuse for it. If you offer goods for sale at extremely cheap prices you are going to get swamped with orders -it's not rocket science.

I think, Horeseykitty that their website isn't 'live'. Example scenario - If they had 50 of a particular item in stock at close of business on Friday and took orders for 300 items (and payments in this case) for that item over the weekend, site updates on say Monday morning, negative stock balance (nice bank balance though..!) and orders which they can't fulfil.
So basically the chances that they had the stuff at the time we placed our orders is minimal, as they were probably oversold very early into the weekend (and continued to take orders for items I now know were out of stock when I ordered on the Saturday, up until Monday night).
That's my best understanding of what's happened here - totally unacceptable. I told them when I called them that it can't be legal and certainly isn't ethical to accept payment for items that they don't have available to sell and then hang on to the money for a week or so but the poor woman on the phone (it's not the customer service reps' fault after all) was sounding so frazzled I gave her a break!

I've just been rung too, and I hadn't left any phone messages. The lady was (obviously) very apologetic, and said at the moment they don't know what parts of the orders they will be able to fulfil, they should know by the end of the week. If you want a complete refund now, that's fine. If you do keep the order live, they will include a letter in the package detailing what has been fulfilled, what hasn't and what refund has been given. The only items they know on my order definitely can't be fulfilled at the moment are the growing pots.
Having dealt with warehouse moves I have some sympathy - its something that needs weeks and weeks of planning and preparation so to have to do it suddenly would be a nightmare. However these phone calls should have been made a week ago.

I defended them, hands in air, but over the past few days I've felt less than sympathetic to them as I've been reading peoples posts here. For the simple reason that they have handled this whole thing worse than badly.

There's nothing wrong with sending out a blanket email containing all the information about their issues and problems. Some information is better than no information. There's everything wrong with customers having to repeatedly waste time and money to call their customer services until someone is eventually able to give them a weak explanation about what is going on. Not to mention the worry that people will face over whether they might actually have their order payment refunded in the absence of their order.

I've just been rung too. The lady on the phone was very nice and very apologetic, but still this has been a complete shambles.

One of my orders which has just two items in it is being cancelled and refunded as both items are out of stock. The other order of 10 or so items, the information she had so far showed 3 items out of stock, but she said that this information was not necessarily complete, so it might be that other items will be cancelled too. I've left this one open, as some of the items were real bargains, so hopefully I should receive some of them at least.

Things that appear to be out of stock for me include beach wraps, beach shoes and the organic t-shirts, but I'm half expecting a few other items to be cancelled too.

She did say that they are hoping that orders will be received by the end of the week, and that postage will be refunded where the majority of the order has been cancelled.

I did point out to them quite strongly that the complete lack of communications was the main issue, and that I felt this had been badly handled.

pretty much the same here , I have been rung up and asked if i want a full refund and they cancel my order or they can send what they have got , she couldnt tell me excatly what they hadnt got but said they would refund the carriage if it was only a few items they were sending etc . i said i want happy paying postage for a 50p hat etc . off the top of her head all she could tell me that was missing was the heart lights trainers , the boys hip racer shorts and the growing pots.

I got call too. Saying much the same. It's very poor that they don't seem to know what they have or haven't got but she did say that I probably wouldn't get any of the shoes I'd ordered.
Smashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j
  • I ordered first thing sat, 4 items. Parcel arrived on Friday, containing 2 items (missing one coat and one balaclava) . There was a note in the parcel telling me the other items were out of stock and would be refunded. I'm happy enough with that, but I hope you all get your orders sorted out soon.
