Hi brizzled, lurker here. Did you get caught by the flooding. I'm not very far from you - at the top of a hill that overlooks the channel. Mind you, the bottom road (between two m/way junctions if you get my drift), has had very big puddles for the last week!
I've not had to go anywhere near any flooded areas although my husband flew back from Paris last week and the taxi driver took him down some very narrow lanes to get home.
Have a good time in NZ for Christmas - my aunt lives in Auckland.0 -
Your NZ holiday sounds fab. We haven't been there but we loved out time in Oz. Not enough to emigrate with DBs and their families though.
I sometimes buy large quantities of flour from Approved foods when they have it on offer.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi Dangers
Hmm.. I think I know where you are:D We are fine thanks. Bristol has lots of hills (as you know) and we are on quite high ground. Drains were pretty full though! Have to say am glad its been dry for a couple of days now. I did take the car to West London yesterday though for work..didnt want to risk the trains which were still up the shoot yesterday. And managed to avoid country lanes..although know you had little option:(
And..please stop lurking!!;) pop in and have a biscuit and cup of coffee (well more likely glass of wine!:rotfl:)..we're a friendly bunch:)
Pooh..
AF is an idea...might be worth the postage if its on offer. It is working well..takes up stacks of room in my larder but of an evening its great not to have to trek out for bread.
NZ/Aus will be great....best thing will be 1 month away in the sun:) OH is away now and gets back 3 days before we fly so something to doubly look forward to
Back laters..so far still trying to work out how to salvage my budget after the destruction wrought on Monday:oMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hope alls OK with you - think you have been quiet recently jwil? I am good, loving the yummy bread (it was the wrong yeast you know that was causing the problem) and its so great to be using the big bag of flour. Does anyone know how to buy large quantities cheaply? My 25kg organic sack of strong flour was £21 from memory. No delivery charge as I got some other bits as well but it'd be good to know if there are alternatives
If you havent got a BM I suggest you do jwil as its really handy to be able to make bread when you are tied to the house with a small one;)
You would have needed a boat! Pretty much every road into town was flooded.
I'm ok thanks, just plodding on.
I used to have a breadmaker but it died and I haven't replaced it. I'd love to get a new one but the one I was contemplating was quite expensive. There's nothing like fresh bread though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Lovely to hear from you jwil..can you try for a BM on Freecycle? or for Xmas? I think ours was 'only' about £40 new and its SO worth it.
have to get DD2 into bed so need to dash.... hope you feel more perky soonMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi
Just checking in before go away again for work
I have made some PADs by adopting Tilly and others' scraping across the pennies approach. Seems to work for me and I like the symmetry of rounding down to the nearest pound, or tenner (except when its creeping into my OD:o)
I have updated my spends and hope to have a NSD today. I may have fuel to get tomorrow but if I get off my a**e and do my mileage claim from about August then I should get some money back. Apart from the fuel tomorrow should also be a NSD... and will charge all devices from hotel room (a cheeky idea from "What small DFW things have you done today" thread....which reminds me I must seek out those folks again - it added much needed discipline to my daily routine;):rotfl:)
Am giving my DD1 some money to buy Xmas presents on Saturday. am not sure what to give her.. £30? Any thoughts? Its basically accrued pocket money. Hope she spends it wisely tho.
More HM bread in the BM..can smell it now!!
Think thats it. have a great day everyone.

£30 is probably ok . Does she have to buy lots of pressies ?
I am refusing to buy presents for DD1s friends this year. I usually sub her for those as I feel sorry for her using her pocket money which isnt very much, but I have put my foot down this year and she has been saving her money to buy them all something. She went shopping last Saturday but came home empty handed spending nothing but the bus fare, a packet of chewing gum and a Maccy d's. What a wasted trip that was !! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hello peeps
DD1 has gone off with £50..its all to be spent on family pressies, lunch, train ticket etc..we will see how it goes!!
So far I have...
- resisted putting the heating on:eek: which wont last but makes me feel brave:rotfl:
- made some PADs..scraping across the pennies and rounding down
- updating spends diary on MWhizz
- washing on racks
- chickens fed on kitchen scraps...
Off to strip beds and make beds now.. this is the life!:rotfl:
My parents are coming over this afternoon. DDs happen to be away so I was wondering about taking them out for a meal. CBA to cook.. but now think I will raid the freezer as I can't really afford to eat out after my Ho8bs trip so will see what they say when they arrive.
Will update later. Have a good day all xxMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
