Will I need a boat?
Hope alls OK with you - think you have been quiet recently jwil? I am good, loving the yummy bread (it was the wrong yeast you know that was causing the problem) and its so great to be using the big bag of flour. Does anyone know how to buy large quantities cheaply? My 25kg organic sack of strong flour was £21 from memory. No delivery charge as I got some other bits as well but it'd be good to know if there are alternatives
If you havent got a BM I suggest you do jwil as its really handy to be able to make bread when you are tied to the house with a small one;)
A quiet day today..a small shop (well £23 after using up another £36 voucher) and coffees out with lovely friends..bought a slice of cake too so £7 on that. Have tidied up the bank account and made some PADs. We had F&C this evening so thats £16 for 5 of us....well theres no chance of not knowing 'where it all goes"!!:o I certainly do! But as OH leaves at 5 tomorrow morning I think all is justifiable..
Off to chill now...

Not sure about where to buy cheap flour in bulk, it's not something I've looked into. Storage would be a problem for me.
Would it be less daunting if you separated out your mortgage from your overall debt and tackled it later?

Hi Piq..
Think I need it there..loud and proud so to speak!:o
But will review from time to time..
Saw OH off at crack of dawn then sloped off back to bed..woke up at 10am!! Think we all needed that. DDs now doing homework. I have dinner in SC..have sorted my veg box deliveries and am awaiting my wood delivery sometime before sitting back and watching Merlin and SCD with DDs this eve. Not sure what else has happened to the day! With all these weather forecasts I am definitely not planning to clean out chickens!!
A very quiet day. Only 1 spend. Dried lavender flowers as my DD2 desperately wants her little bag, which has split, mended! £6.49 including postage. So am going to try and keep spends to solely that today. HM popcorn for example...after all I prefer it anyway. Will have to spend tomorrow tho..DD2 needs school shoes.

Crumbs...that was exhausting. Me and DDs shifted a cubic metre worth of logs from the pavement outside our house to make a woodpile at the back..took over an hour
but good exercise that's for sure!
Lovely lamb pilaf made in the SC with feta cheese and pomegranate seeds on top with steamed savoy cabbage..yum. Even the girls loved it so a result.
Have made a few PADs today but other than the lavender ( previous post ) no spends at all which is great. Now treating myself to a small glass of red whilst watching TV with girls. It's a nice end to the day.
Bit concerned about weather forecast but will have to watch and see. At least we will be warm!
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Thanks Mrs T. Will do. It's from the Slow Cook Book so dead easy.
Today has been SO busy that I have not had time to post or read diaries:(
Today we cleaned out the chicken coop and run (it hadn't been done for weeks and weeks and was pretty revolting ). We then went to pick up some mail order Nex! Stuff..some went back immediately ( was a bit confused as not collected from a store before so one item I returned I didn't get a receipt for...I hope it gets removed for my account) and we bought some more bits for OH for Xmas etc.
Then tried to get DD2 some boots but her feet are too wide  so may try online as I have her fitting but honestly..how hard can it be! it was the Clark£ store we have always used so a bit peed off.
Then back to reassemble chicken run..that was a feat of engineering that took at least 20 minutes! Before cooking veggie gratin and Devon sole for tea (fish from freezer..made 1 fish stretch around 3 of us! Very MSE) and veggies all from R!verford box. Then made yummy oh so simples Nigella chocolate biscuits for next week, lunch boxes etc. all good.
I think what made the day really exhausting as the washing, hanging out on racks..I must have done 4 loads..making beds and my favourite (not)... Supervising homework!!!! Lord it's a time consuming business....
Spoke to OH briefly on Skype which was lovely. Looks like the wifi might be OK where he is which will be lovely. Bit tricky with video but when we switched that off it worked without tripping out. Then a bit of work....before slumping onto here...
So that's it. My day:rotfl: good job I don't have to write a column every week..it would get VERY boring!!:T
Sorry haven't popped in on anyone today..will rectify that later this week I promise! Have a good week all!!

Hi all
Just popping in before I go out. Me and a couple of friends were booked to see Caitlin Moran in London this eve...but, to cut a long story short, with the trains looking dodgey we have decided not to go. Pity as booked for months and was loking forward to an evening of chat and humour!
So..we will claim back our train tickets (I think the weather is justification enough and we were booked on the last train home) and OK we lose £10 for the CM ticket but that's life.
So..we will now do lunch and cocktails in Brizzle. Much less stressful ;)Not very MSE but its my (early!) birthday treat. There is only 1 thing I really want and thats a proper manicure so I may relent and do that if I get around to it. Otherwise it will be sticking to a few gifts from the list I still have to get..not much to go as cutting back..as I was saying on Alice's diary only just now.
So writing on here to remind me to be strong!! and resist unecessary spends!!:D
Have to be on road for work (or train) tomorrow at 7am so hopefully that will limit consumption of cocktails today too:AMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hmm..
Lunch and a trip to Ho8bs where I picked up work clothes and a coat..OK 20% reduction on all items yesterday but honestly:eek: and I can't find the receipt but it has to have been £000s..
I am officially on the naughty stepand off wine and cocktails when I go shopping.
Back home today after work much much earlier than I thought I'd be which is a small blessing... just made some PADs which is making me feel rather like the story of Canute and the tide...If I can't look after the pounds then who gives a stuff about the pennies
