LBM in 2003.. What have I been doing since??!

Wow, you've really rolled your sleeves up after your budget-fail last week, haven't you!? Well done, £882 sounds do-able but not wasteful and I love the 'When it's gone, it's gone' idea. I'm going to adopt that for next month. Someone on here (sorry, can't remember who) even freezes their credit and debit cards in a jug of water so they can't impulse-buy. I did think about trying that, but Mr Happy would probably call for medical help if he opened the freezer and saw it!
I love having the house to myself, hope you've made the most of it. And it makes you appreciate the family all the more when they're back, so enjoy today's homecoming xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
Debt Dec 11: Unsecured £69,579 + Mortgage £59,948 = £129,527
Debt May 21: Unsecured ZERO! ZILCH! Mortgage £22,3320 -
Thanks lovely people.
Well its great to have them back, although I fell asleep on the sofa watching a movie with OH..!!! He was OK about it though despite the fact that he had driven about 1000 miles that day/day before!
Sorry haven't been on the diaries, will remedy that as soon as I can but ILs coming over to take DDs away for a couple of days and unpacking the van..so its all go here!!
So...the good news NSD No.4 snared yesterday!! Whoop Whoop!!
Less good news..the dreaded V card has gone up by £586.54 since the last statement - have amended my signature. This is despite PADding. However its because of over £1000 spent on ski lessons, van insurance and my slippage moment over some internet order..(and about £60 of that has been returned so can expect a refund))..so at least I know where its gone. Onwards and upwards and plan to OP today so that it goes down to under the £8k mark.
I am actively pursuing the when its gone its gone mentality Happy. So when OH has decided to take me to a curry place (luckily a BYO) this eve I will take cash and remind him of our monthly limit!! I think it will help to focus the minds.
I am not quite at the freeezing credit cards yet stage..it may come though and now I only ever put any expenses on the 0% one. Just need to start bringing it down rather than watch it go up!
Hope everyone is enjoying the Bank Hols despite the grey weather

Hi all
Apologies for the AWOL bit..should be able to catch up a bit tomorrow as having a short week!
Today was a spend day....bought a late lunch (ie. at 6:30pm) from the station as was starving!!! so £7 down the drain. Used my bite card though and it did include a bottle of wine ( a small one!)
Finished my tax return and then, rather than get cross on the phone, (no doubt holding), I will be using a second class stamp to post my letter asking for no more SA this year, I don't need to, and for instalments for the last one, due to my straitened circumstances!!
What else...OH is still having a barney about this chap who now has his CD AND has the refund which OH sent in good faith asking this guy to return the CD, but he never has.....Amazon don't seem to want to help. Does anyone have any advice??? surely Amazon should blacklist this guy's account or something? Isnt that theft?!
My BC total is also £1846.65 so going down by a bit. Its a great statement...lines and lines of my PADs for random amounts...but it all helps to make such good inroads into the debt!
Off to relax now. Will be back soon!!!
Hope everyone is OKMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Now I could have sworn I had posted since OH and the girls have been home , but no! How rubbish am I , I think I must have dreamt it ! Enjoy having them home , hope they had a great trip.
Sorry to hear about the cd , I have no advice though sorry. It's terrible that people do that though. Just goes to show, never trust anyone !
Great news re the BC you seem to be back on form Mrs B after last weeks money wobbles. It must be lovely to see the Pads , I would love to be able to do that, but being on a DMP I don't think I can, so have to make do with popping it in my sealed ish pot ! Last week when the sun was shining it kept getting raided for ice creams though !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Great ! Bet you are very proud. Our girls have never skied but I think they would love it. I did ask Dd2 if she would like to go with the school next year if we could rustle up the cash, but she said she wanted to go with us one day instead, which was really sweet!
You deserve to feel pleased re the BC , I think you can win top Padding prize amongst our Mötley Crew. I never remember to update on the Padding thread !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

You should worry. I don't know what BC stands for either. But even worse than that I've just realised that our beloved Mrs B is not called Brizzled fw but Brizzle dfw. So not Brizzled -fast forward but Brizzle debt free wannabe - duh...

:rotfl: and I thought it was only me that thought that but wasn't brave enough to admit it ! Before she became affectionately known as the lovely mrs b , I frequently called her brizzled, not brizzle DFW . It dawned on me last week, but I kept Schtum or however you spell it !
