Sounds like you've had a good day.

I'm sure it will be lovely to have the DDs back this weekend :)

Thanks jwil...yes it will, altho to save money on childcare ( and cos they all love it of course!) they are with the grandparents from Monday- Weds...so OH and I can work.

Back then to see my sister and family later on in the week. They are very frugal by nature so don't see a lot of spends:T

Just looking at the POAMAYC challenge..with the bonus (just ignoring the tax bill for now!) I have achieved over a third of my goal. Should be pleased about that! I have decided I need to celebrate the small things in life rather than solely worrying about the future

The bank where I have our mortgage was closed today..of course I realised it might be, but had hoped that it would be open to take calls and tell me my net and gross totals!!! Strange how MSE I have become - I like to have an update at least three times a month and today was when I wanted my fix!

    Am I becoming a MSE OCD'er??!!:rotfl:

    Update:

[STRIKE]I have been bought breakfast in town by a friend who also collected me and returned me (!) so had a lovely treat and am hoping no spends at all today! I would like to bag my NSD No.3[/STRIKE] YES YES YES No. 3 bagged!!! Even stopped myself buying a £2 film to watch as it'd have nullified my score!!!
    - [STRIKE]put washing on low and out to dry on line[/STRIKE]
    - ask the weather nicely for a £3 (min.) day on the panels:D NO unfortunately only £1.90 but better than a kick in the teeth as my dad would say
    - finish tidying up and deep cleaning :( after floors being sanded:eek: SORT OF..Work in progress!!! At least another hour and a bit done but its taking so so long!!
    - finish meal planning it looks great - I now even have a template!! and leftovers are now officially listed as a meal:cool:
    - make chocolate animals in moulds for an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday when my DDs get back:D Relisted on the to do list for tomorrow!
    - [STRIKE]check banking and make PADs[/STRIKE]
-[STRIKE]update spends and stores spreaddies [/STRIKE]
-[STRIKE] catch up on MSE diaries for ideas and support and post on today's small things thread[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]more crotchet:p (pooh..I am just starting out...spurred on by Mrs Fluffy;)..so its singles for me and its a dolls blanket. Tension is not great and I have dropped some stitches but practice will make perfect!)[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]dinner from stores (so stuffed from the big brekkie and smoothie just now it may just be fruit and porridge!)[/STRIKE] Camembert on hot cross buns and some salad..oh the joys of living by myself!!!

Apart from that..well I have surfed on here a bit and watched a DVD from the huge pile we still have. Updated the POAYC challenge as another £54 has gone towards that :T Realised I have reached a 1/3 of my target so well done me! :TDone my physio exercises :eek:and not switched the heating on..am up here on the PC now as the woodburner is going out and I am too stingy to put any more wood on! I also cleared out 4 items for my niece, clothes and stuff and 6 items for the CS.

Am planning an assault on the toiletries and skincare issue in my house tomorrow..wish me luck..have all sorts of plans!!

Look at you go girl! A human dynamo no less! Well done on getting so much done.

You'll have to use up all the toiletries, you can't buy anymore until you do, it's a fantastic way of clearing the shelves down and not spending any money. There's a challenge on the health and beauty board you can join. I did this a few years ago and am now quite minimalist in my beauty products. I also spend time blagging free samples from the beauty counters every time I go to one of the stores in town. I have quite a large pile of Cl*ar*ns and L*nc*me as they are particularly generous. Obviously I buy deodorant, toothpaste etc when needed or it would be a bit

    And a NSD as well!

Well done on all your achievements! I agree that sometimes we forget to celebrate what we have done as we still focus on what there is left to do :T

Your bank might be open today for your mortgage fix ;) I think it's a normal working day.

Well done on getting to 1/3 on the POAMAYC challenge :T :T

I did the using up toiletries thing a few years ago. I didn't need to buy anything new (bar toothpaste and deodorant) for about 2 years _pale_ It was really satisfying seeing them all go down though, and I still do the same now which does save money.

  • Wow Brizzle you've been a very busy and very productive lady. Well done on getting over a third of the way to your POAMAYC challenge. :T I bet it was a great feeling. As you say, we spend so long of our time focusing on the big stuff it's easy to forget about the small achievements.

Good to see the crochet is coming along. :D Until you get the hang of it, you might find it useful to count your stitches at the end of every row. My ripple blanket is coming along nicely.
