Hi MfD...yes we haven't done anything with ours for around 15 years  so well overdue a refresh.
Have just made some HM ginger beer as I fancied some. Won't be fizzy until next week but better than buying it. Not my usual recipe so fingers crossed. Have also made Nadijas ginger and pear cake..in the oven now. Nom nom.

Well done for giving blood Brizzle. I should do it again really. I am really bad with needles - last time I went white and sweatly and they had to lie me back and throw my legs up in the air which was of course not embarrassing at all in a hall of my fellow villagers! :rotfl:
HM ginger beer sounds like an achievement! Good luck to your daughter with her confidence in her exams!

I'm sure you DD is happy and relieved testing is over. It's always a great feeling to be through.
OrangeFairy you made me laugh! I got a clear picture of what a joy blood giving must of been! Funny stuff!!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Thanks lovely peeps. Will try the HM ginger beer today....its v v fizzy
Had a totally spontaneous weekend so far which is good for the soul. Lots of low key socialising with friends and family which has been great for us all. Kids popping in and out of homes down the street, long bike rides with a pint of local cider at the end, sitting in the garden...its been wonderful in the sun
On the MSE front...um. I did order some clothes from H@bbs in their sale..think it was the right thing to do for my ordinary and work wardrobe and it did include a lush pair of shoes...but it wasn't in the budget so need to do some shuffling. Hmm. Need to think about whether this was the right thing to do really.
Booked train tickets for a trip to the big smoke tomorrow via TCB. Tickets for an activity will hopefully be reduced if OH can get some free tickets from a friend..not sure it will come off but fingers crossed.
House in a state..need to clean and tidy, tidy, tidy. All of us being in the house at the moment definitely makes it much worse.
Not a sniff on the M-F room, but have decided not to stress. Have dropped advertised price by a little but won't do it by more in case they snap and then I am resentful that it's below what should be being paid. I haven't put any income for it until September so a while to go yet.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Ooh and can recommend the pear and ginger cake...but note, it needs 2 tins of pears for the base. Very acceptable..especially with cream
And OH missed deadline but will get paid for his extra work next month he says... maybe that can pay for my Hob£s bill.. He'd LOVE that :rotfl:
And disappointed in my lack of NSDs..so going to put in a target of 5 for June and get OH on board as he doesn't currently subscribe to this challenge ..and then sometime busts mineMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Yep, sometimes just has to happen
Having said that...think there may be too much month for the money so will do a shuffle from the mortgage OP pot which hurts, but at least it's there. DD2 growing out of school clothes too..so have just ordered some more.
So, plans for June.
- 5 NSDs - OH on board
- religiously keep to budgets as per YNAB and stop slipping...it's all too easy
- try and do 1 extra day's work this month
- use up what's in cupboard and freezer rather than more grocery shopping
- keep look out for more income streams especially lodger
Hope everyone has sun. It's gorgeous hereMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hey, at least it was in the sale, and work clothes don't count
I've discovered that there's a Fat Face outlet near where my mother lives, so will be having a mini-spree when I'm down visiting her in a couple of weeks' time.
