You're doing brilliantly with the alcohol free days Brizzle. I've cut down drastically now I've got to point everything that passes my lips.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Today has been a NSD! Even managed to scrape together some ingredients for DD2's cookery lesson tomorrow which didn't involve a mad rush round to the corner shop.. why do kids always leave it to the last minute!!

Aww, now that DOES being back memories ... school evening at 9pm - "Mum, do we have <long list of obscure recipe ingredients>". Or in the case of DS, it would be the morning of the proposed cookery lesson. Arrggghhh!

Had a lovely day out at the panto and for afternoon tea..and as all paid for before..counts as a NSD! Think thats the first one of the month too! :D And still on Dry January..go me on Day 10 :D (hasnt happened since I was pregnant (which was a loooong time ago)

Got the work week from hell ahead..so wish me luck peeps

    Laters

It's ages since I've been to a proper panto - been in a few am-dram ones but haven't seen a professional one for years. Glad you enjoyed it. Good work on the Dry January. I'm not much of a drinker so it wouldn't be much of a challenge for me. Giving up coffee might be a comparable challenge, but I ain't never gonna do that .

Good luck at work, hope it doesn't turn out to be too bad after all .....
  • Sounds as though you are beginning to enjoy Dry January now. I am back on the mission, after my one celebratory night on Thursday ! Am finding I am missing having a glass of wine to relax at the end of the day less and less and enjoying my glass of water much more .

Panto sounds great, we stopped going about two Christmases ago after a particularly dire performance where people were actually leaving before the interval. Apparently it has got better since then , but I couldn't quite justify booking tickets , just incase. I do miss it though, it has always been a tradition at Christmas from when the girls were tiny.

Hope all goes well for you with work this week . Take Care x

Thanks all for the good wishes, it worked!!

Still a crazy week but have a glimmer of hope which has helped no end. As long as I can multi task effectively tomorrow I am in with a shout :)

The panto was great. Bit far for some of you to come ;) ..but the Cheltenh*m Everyman Theatre always does a great one

Think denial and abstinence does get easier..am going to break into a fizzy drink to make me feel better :)

    So onto all things financial..

    - 2 items should sell..am hoping that there is a late surge on the other 4 items
    - OH has put some stuff on A7azon..the other stuff he says has no value I am sending to the CS rather than MM..they can make some pennies from it instead
    - paid the tax bill, so thats a relief. OK this year..may take some saving for during the next! OH needs to do his now...that could be painful in terms of getting the paperwork together :( If he's not careful its last minute dot com
    - LOs for tea..meatballs from the freezer but jujuing up with truffle oil ;) (from a spend many moons ago and am sure it not designed to last that long :))so an easy tea.

So apart from tax and a club for DD2...who has just hurtled home.. its a NSD...good to see us cutting down on the non essential rubbish..

And lo and behold another PC survey comes through..fingers crossed for a deluge:)

Another NSD for me, save for fuel. Hope that's doesn't entirely count as well within budget. Definitely feels cheaper than a year ago. Still burn through it at the same rate though!

Will update sig as have decluttered 5 items via Bay of E. Sat in hallway waiting to be posted by OH tomorrow. A few things that didn't go will be relisted.

Dinner of LOs made into individual cottage pie type things. Pretty good I'd say. Means another meal eked out of the Sunday roast and more meat went into the freezer.

Still managing the Dry January..but feel I will be glad to see in February!! The Drinkaware app stats though looking nothing short of a miracle!!

    Hope all are well
