  • Just having a another quick catch up. Just seen you were in Norfolk on the 29th, we were there too, visiting Mr PGs family !! We could have met up for a vino or two !!

Well done on the decluttering, we are still going strong as well. Agree with you on the MM front, it feels so wrong to sell them for 25p, or even 5p as I was offered for some rather ancient and embarrassing titles recently . If OH has any grand plans to raise more cash for them, please let me know !

Sorry today wasn't quite so good for you, YNAB playing up sounds a pain. Getting started with that in the first place is on my resolution list, and I have also got through the weekend without pouring a glass of wine, although it took all my willpower while cooking the roast earlier. A glass of red would have gone down a treat !

Hope the girls have a good week back at school x

    Hi

Thanks for the lovely long post PG..you put me to shame!

Norfolk was lovely..but a catch up with you would have made it even better. I am finding it surprisingly (or maybe not) hard to avoid alcohol. Denial and abstinence are not in my usual lexicon I think :( But Day 4 dawns and will pass with just coffee and soft (& non fizzy) drinks fuelling me.. :D

So what have I done today:

    - got some more B88ts points by registering my little used Advantage card. Think given how my DDs love the place - next Xmas I will use the points for gifts.

    - a LSD.. just DD2's class paid as forgot last term :D

    - lovely meal cooked by DD1 - got home to it almost ready. Love it. She had done a load of laundry too :)

    - 'saved' money by tutoring the kids this eve in Maths and English...going to make this a regular twice weekly event. (They are rapt..naturally ;)..but thats not the point :))

    - 2 eggs from the chooks..the new ones must be laying. Thank goodness, considering how much mud is in their run :(

    - LOs for lunch.

Think thats it. Not a bad day

    Hope everyone is good

Day Four for me too and its killing me !! :rotfl::rotfl:

I used my B**ts points to buy DD2 a new hairdryer for Xmas which she was over the moon with, so get saving !

Well done on the tutoring, bet the girls loved it and to DD for cooking you a meal. What a good girl she is ! x

    Hi peeps

    Early back today..well back by 6pm :D

Just had a healthy 'made up' dinner of cornmeal, fried egg on top, smattering of chorizo, green salads, LO pumpkin and a tomato salsa. Yum yum yum. Kids now just scattering off to clubs and stuff..I am sitting here in the kitchen on here. I am telling them I am recharging :). Normally would have a glass of wine but its tea or coffee all the way for me again...c'mon PG..we can do it!!

Small joys..have accidentally overpaid on one CC and another was overpaid due to refunds on items I sent back. So a nice start to 2016. Eagerly awaiting my annual mortgage statement now - sad aren't I??! (But as MSErs I know you understand :))

Have just signed up to a 10k..wish me luck! Should help with another one of my NY resolutions... not sure when I will find time to train but if I don't have the incentive unlikely to happen and that kind of distance is ideal.

A LSD today..needed fuel and some salad (haunting my local greengrocer again.cheap stuff and open all hours so very handy), but a pretty frugal day really. Long may it continue

    Hope everyone is doing well

  • Hey Brizzle.

That dinner sounds yumptious! Lots of my favorite things all on one plate - scrummy.

Hope the back to school-ness was OK. One of mine back today, t'other one goes back tomorrow.

Thanks for popping by MM, yes my girls went back on Monday. Settled back immediately though - they are really positive which is great and especially so for DD1 as she has exams this year.

PG.. Bought OH an espresso machine.. a basic one but was an indulgence for Xmas. He loves it tho and it's doing sterling service in Dry Jan :rotfl:

Re Dahl.. OH uses Anjum Anand recipes for most Indian dishes. They are lush healthy and simple. Have never let us down so worth a try?

    Hi all

Finally getting into the swing of this not drinking lark... first night I haven't wanted a glass as a way of relaxing after work.

Frugal dinner again..more of OH's HM naan, raita and lentil dahl and rice. Plates cleared in double quick time. More LOs tomorrow..turkey risotto! Hmm. A friend is also coming over. Will be good to see her and as I have Friday off (seeing more girlfriends for lunch:)) it'll be a good start to a long weekend.

In other news I have decided to try and focus on one high profile and important role at the moment; rather than do two to a poorer standard. It will probably hit my income..but it'll be worth it for my peace of mind. And even though I am a freelancer, (and could probably just take the money and keep quiet), doing a good job is essential to me and my wellbeing so I am following my gut instinct and telling them I need to give some stuff up. Will keep you posted on where it goes from here and what it does to the Brizzle finances!!

2 eggs from the chooks :)

I also forgot my lunch..so had to buy one :( but OH used it so not wasted. But no other spends so a LSD.
