    Hi folks

Thanks for all the good wishes..I am fine thanks and getting about pretty well on crutches. Think the local anaesthetic is still keeping me happy..that will wear off so am prepared to get miserable then! The general though was weird. Made me feel queasy and sad..not to be repeated if I can help it!

The food was surprisingly good but I missed a proper dinner cos of my surgery time:( but I did stock up on biscuits!

Anyway..a quiet day today. OH making lunch and we are decluttering. Was going to send boxes of books to our local CS but my mum is taking them on Sunday instead for her local fete..as its mothering Sunday couldn't really say no! We could car boot but given my op etc think its just best to send to a good home and from what jwil etc say think we might not get much anyway. OH will be looking at shelves later..probably try IKEA first. We may well line the landing with bookshelves...we have probably decluttered a 1/3 of our books but we are still left with hundreds and hundreds... The landing may be the best place for them. Probably cheaper too than a bookcase. The 'stacked up on floor' look has served its time in the Brizzle household!

There are also plans for the garden..a bench..maybe second hand if we can find one for sitting out with the neighbours. And maybe build from spare wood a covering for the numerous recycling bins..we shall see. Have 5 days of OH off work so am keen to put him to work;)

Good news is that we have had £1000 into the current account this week. OK £600 kinda doesn't count as its for the reimbursement of travel costs from an insurance claim but as they were incurred before I became all MSE again in January I am sort of counting it as a bonus which is topping up the current account nicely. Some will help the PADs too. OH also got some freelance money. That's the remainder. Think I mentioned a while back he had 2 telephone conversations and the fee they wanted to pay him was £400.. He's gob smacked and he was paid within the month too. ( for all those business people you will know how much cash flow means!) Result! That has gone into a savings account with some other money he made so that we can use it carefully..wisely might be the best word:p

Am checking into other diaries as and when..really good to be hooking back in and seeing everyone doing so well. It's a long old haul but there is so much motivation out there..it's truly amazing this virtual MSE world of ours :D

    Brizzle

PS still haven't done the allotment planning or expenses or tax return...:o must get my A into G.... Do you know I just think its cos I prefer it on here! Maybe I will ease myself in and put in my expenses tomorrow. That'll be a start. I could also do allotment planning this eve..only leaving the deadly return to do

Glad to hear you are doing well Mrs B. I havent ever had to have a general, but I have heard alot of mixed reports. DD1 was fine and bouncing off of the walls after hers. Thinked she shocked the nurses as they were expecting her to feel all woozy !

The plans for the garden sound lovely, I'm sure you will pick up a bench from somewhere even if it needs a bit of TLC. Our garden really needs some attention, I have plans to give the fences a lick of paint, but thats one for a warmer day !

Great news re OH's Freelance money and your very wise plans for it !:p I am still pretending our windfall isnt there, but it soooo difficult !!

Oh yes before I go, I would rather be on here than sorting out the books, tax etc etc, or working in general to be honest !!

Hope you have a good evening. Take Care and remember to rest up a bit !!

I'm glad you're back Brizzle and doing so well. Remember not to rush into things for a while, an anaesthetic can hang round the body for a while and leave you feeling tired.

I need more bookshelves too [and the space to put them in] I have piles of books everywhere :o I can't bear to throw them away and they all seem to be worth 1p on Amazon!

    Hi all

Been a slow day today although did post on the small things thread.

OH is still sorting books - slow job! It's all beginning to look better though. Did spend £79 on shelves in IK.A though...my £30 from my interview will have to go towards that. The good news is that 3 of the books we we're decluttering we realised could go for a bit (over £85!!) as they seem to be pretty sought after academic type books. OK they haven't sold yet and doesn't Ama&on take a fee or some:mad:) but I guess at least they only charge if they sell. So fingers and toes crossed!!!

It's a grey day here. Sitting on the sofa really. A hard life!! But wish I was pottering around helping OH tbh! Looking forward to the girls coming back from school :(...feel like I need cheering up a bit...

    Bye

    Hi

Walked around a bit and also meandered through some diaries so feel a wee bit better. Such a lovely bunch on here:)

Also poked my head into the toy room...AND..newflash!!!... I can see the carpet!!! :T Crumbs.. Hasn't been seen in years!!!! OH has been working very hard bless him. So we are cracking through the mess which is great...just need another book case....:o

No real traction on the garden bench yet. Saw a couple that need work and not sure I have the energy right now...hmm.. Will have to wait..maybe my mum will give me some money towards one for my birthday?

    Over and out

Well done on the decluttering! It's nice when you get real visible progress.

I always ignore amazon's fees and just look at the amount they tell me I will get when the book sells. I don't see them so therefore they don't exist :D

Hope your £85 book sells, I sold one for £100-odd once and nearly fainted :o

There's nothing wrong with sitting on the sofa...and aren't you supposed to be taking it easy?...operation and all that!

Enjoy the de-cluttering that your OH is doing, you can advise from the sofa...
