Taking it easy don't come naturally Piq!!! You know how it is..mixture of control freakery and hope that could travel the same ground twice as fast:o Poor OH..he does find me trying at times ( and ditto I guess!)

It's actually 3 books for the £85 listing...but will still be amazing if they go! It's slow but he also has £20 odd in the A account from CD sales. I saw it :T I guess that and the interview adds up to half a book case!:rotfl:

Thanks jwil..it is a good feeling even if I am only looking on admiringly!

I know about the control freakery bit, I can't bear watching, I just have to offer a little advice, then a little help, then end up doing it all myself as I've offended the person doing the task and they've walked out...:o

Bravo to the Amazon sales! Any books I would be prepared to sell go for 1p, so are not worth it, especially, as Amazon do not always allow you enough for postage.

  • Hi Brizzle, glad to see you're putting your directing skills to good use. :rotfl: All in a good cause. I think it's always difficult to sell your belongings whatever they are as you never get what you believe they're worth.

    Hi all

Good to hear from you Mrs Fluffies! I was raving about your crocheting skills on another forum..and you have pushed me into getting my own hook!;) waiting for OH to bring it back tho..don't think its high on his list of priorities!!:rotfl:

    Today I have:

    - made PADs and checked online banking. Am slipping into OD again so need to check budget. It's going awry somewhere :o
    - send off some more A and EBay bits and pieces
    - OH will go to tip and hopefully if they ( Freecycle person) ever respond the coffee table will go too.
    - OH may go over to allotment and plant tatos. Will have to see how time goes
    - have to get DD1 some new school uniform. Far too small for her so new jumper and cardigan needed. But £15 each..shocking. She's only tiny!
    - lunch from stores and dinner out at friends house so only a sitter to pay for and a bottle of wine to take!

Think that's it. I also plan to get together a little box of nice things for a friend of my sisters who lost her OH very unexpectedly this week. A terrible shock. I met them a bit and he was lovely so feel its least I can do. I will gather together a bottle of sloe gin ( see earlier posts!) and some Clarins stuff. Hopefully this way I will not need to buy anything more and there is only postage to pay to send it off.

So above is a bit of a repeat of my small thing thread but it will all help keep me focussed!!! :T

    Love to all

    Have a great day

Ok folks so an interim update:

    - heard a piece on You and Yours re hiring out your camper van. We had talked about it before but OH was saying that it is nuts having this asset effectively doing nothing so I have sent off for an info pack..£400 pw in high season anyone??!! Can't believe it will result in that but maybe it's worth further thought. I am also pleased DH is so keen..want to capitalise on that!

    - signed up to 3 survey sites..Toluna, Survey Friends and Valued Opinions...now me I definitely am opinionated but am now cream crackered!! Almost bored giving my opinions!!! Screened out of 3 surveys but did another 3 largeish ones on Toluna plus the initial surveys ones...so all good. I think it's probably a waste of time really...as I said on the small dfw things thread..I just need to spend less:o that's the ticket..:rotfl: anyway the plan is to use for birthday and other gifts. Ditto the Boots points. May make me think more creatively.

    - And...the final one. As part of one of the surveys I was asked how much more I might spend or less over the next 3-6 months...good question for a MSE addict I thought...so it had to be less :rotfl:but whose lightbulb sometimes flickers :o..so I have gone for a nice round number  £6k in 6 months. Have updated my sig accordingly. The plan is to legitimately ( so no crime folks!) raise or save at least £6k by October.....

Am sure it'll be tough, especially as we have already sold the car but plans include:

    - OH's OT if he goes away a lot again
    - Amazon and Fleabaying..especially the kids stuff now
    - I may get a bonus from work...not sure yet but you never know
    - students staying over the summer
    - campervan hire if we do it
    - regift and use vouchers and HM presents for birthdays and gifts

Less tangible but may be worth thinking about, but can't ' cheat' ( and got to be simple cos I don't do complicated!!)

    - count savings on groceries from allotment

Hmm. Made me think anyway..and that has to be a good thing!:T

Hope everyone is doing well. Feel chirpier today even if not out of bed yet!!!!:rotfl:

That's quite a challenge you're setting yourself Mrs B! Hat's off to you! With your determination you'll do well.

Glad you're taking it easy, I assume you are, as you're writing from bed...

Wow lots of challenges Mrs B !! It will be great to hear how you get on !

The Campervan hire soudns a great idea ! I think theres quite a market for it now. We looked at hiring one many moons ago, in better financial times and couldnt believe the cost, but I do know quite a few people who have hired them and loved it. My Nephew is looking to rent a few for his stag weekend int the summer, its a shame you dont have a full fleet of them and we could have struck up a deal !!:rotfl:

Wow brizzle you are making great in-roads :T

lots of things planned there :)

And the thought of hiring out a campervan - makes me wonder if that makes it more viable for me to eventually own one - a long time dream :D

Good that your hubby is there whilst you are recovering too.

Great plans there Brizzle, every time we think about flogging our van we look at how much they cost to hire and it's astronomical! It's a great idea about hiring yours out though.

The surveys are incredibly boring, but I do like getting the amazon vouchers. I try to use 'dead' time to do them, so at lunchtime or when I'm waiting to do something else.

    Good luck with the challenge!
