    Hi guys

Yes it does start to make more financial sense..and most vans do sit in storage or outside on the drive for most weeks of the year. If you can do the business case ladies I think it's worth thinking about. Also if you have close friends or family that are also keen how about sharing?

No she doesn't have a name..when we had a Bongo we were planning a Japanese name..but now we have a Fiat Adria so she's a Slovenian/Italian lady..any ideas??!!:)

It is a lovely thing. i do love the freedom they give us as a family. I know you like VWs Mrs PG but they are very expensive for what you get..personally for a 2 berth for use in the UK during Spring and Summer you can't beat a Bongo and unconverted they also seat 8! People we know have them as the second vehicle. We only had one and that was 'our' car'. Guzzlers for fuel tho:eek:

Off to some friends for dinner now. yum yum. A 2 minute walk tho may take me 15!!:rotfl:

Laters my lovely virtual readers..have a good eve

I agree..we couldn't sell ours now. Too important for holidays basically. OH and DDs are off skiing in it in 2 weeks time. No way we could afford it otherwise. They will be staying in a car park so very low tech camping!!

Thanks re the challenge...as I said I have some ideas but it will still be going some!! :-)

    Have a great eve

  • Good to hear from you Mrs Fluffies! I was raving about your crocheting skills on another forum..and you have pushed me into getting my own hook! waiting for OH to bring it back tho..don't think its high on his list of priorities!!
So you've caught the bug too :p I love my crocheting and am currently waiting for my newly ordered wool to arrive. :D

Looks like we are all fans of campervans. Another thing we all have in common. :rotfl: It's a dream of Mr F's and mine to have one when the boys have left home. Agree with you Brizzle, Bongos are the biz. Some friends of ours have a bus that they travel around NZ in and as she is studying to be a journalist, she has started blogging about their travels. If anyone is interested I can send you the link (not sure I can post it on here). It's a good read with lots of photos of some gorgeous places and some great tips on budget camping.

Hope you enjoy your evening Brizzle. :)

    Hi all

Well..a nice weekend really but not enough time to spend on here AND do stuff..

    So successes were:

    - NSDs on both Saturday and Sunday for me..OH bought bread but that's it. Not bad eh!
    - MIL's present did get to her in time and it was under £5 including postage! Yeah!
    - nice weekend, especially with my mum and dad today. Now have some lovely flower and salad seeds as well as chocs and geranium plant plugs.. Nice to get stuff from my mum on Mothers Day!! Beautiful card from Monnpig from DD1.. Very touching. And brekkie in bed. OH and DD1 also went to the MD service as she is a scout and apparently it was lovely.
    - Dinner all from the replenished stores from huge RI.erford shop delivered on Weds last.
    - girls have done their homework!! Wow! I feel like a proper mummy!:rotfl:
    - expenses done..£904.. Did I tell you that before? Shocking that I let it get that bad!
    -house fairly tidy..minor miracle
    - lovely chicken in a pot cooked by me today...if I say so myself..;)
    - washing loads all done when panels were working..and all dried on line
    - parcels packed up for people including one to friend of my sisters whose OH recently died :( Will ask OH to send first thing tomorrow.

Less successful and so MUST DO this week:

    - no sign of my crotchet hook...told you it was not OH's top priority!
    - More tip trips needed
    - shelves to go onto EBay..missed FLW
    - no sign of a bench for front garden ( altho until we clear the garden for the tip there is a little point as it wouldn't fit in!:rotfl:)
    - toy room clearing still work in progress!!
    - more furniture to list in Freecycle..or maybe the local Marie Curie CS? It's 1940s utility type furniture..wonder what the market is? Worth taking to CS or will they just turn their noses up?
    - tax return..must start this..otherwise will get a HUGE fine

Will also be doing hospital and docs stuff this week. Not sure yet when will probably be back at work but will probably drop them a line on Tues.

Think that's it for immediate lists!

Hope everyone had a good Sunday!

Sounds like you've had a good weekend brizzle!

It's always worth asking the charity shops. Otherwise you could try one of the furniture reuse groups, see if they would be interested. I know there's SOFA in Bristol but there might be others.

Thanks jwil..in fact I am now thinking about repurposing..they were associated with my grandparents...one piece they bought when they were first married..the other was from a friend of theirs..same era so am partly reluctant to let go.

Just settling down with a bowl of rice pud from the SC with a fruit compote made from bargain basement frozen fruit from ALD?! Yum. OH has also given me the happy news that he has listed the shelves on EBay..so hopefully got the FLW ( which also gains me a further success..see earlier post!) for a starting price of £25.. On the B&Q web site they are at £120 new ( he helpfully tells potential buyers!) and that he has sold a CD on Amazon for £25 ( he will see £23 after costs).. Blimey. Great finish to the weekend and MD!!

Will tot it up and add to the POAMAYC challenge jwil!

  • Did you manage to get that tax return done yet? I think this would be my priority as you don't want to suffer the wrath of the Inland Revenue. :)

Well done on selling the book and for OH listing the shelves on Ebay. Fingers crossed you get a good price for them.

Well..activated the self assessment account online but HMRC are not able to let me see it at this stage.. I thought that these services were meant to help me! Not hinder me! Oh well will give them a second chance tomorrow:cool:

Quiet day today. Spent £8 on a cab back from physio and apart from that haven't spent a thing...have been watching episode of The Killing back to back..it's gripping stuff!

Off now to put washing on and find stuff to EBay..kids will soon be hiding their possessions and living in fear at the bottom of the garden :rotfl:

Now why does that not surprise me? How frustrating it is when you've got your head together to do a task and something gets in the way meaning you can't!
