  • Hi brizzle - you sound really enthusiastic about getting your cards paid off :D - have you set a new target date ? - think i may well be joining you on that but i am far too miserable at the moment to think about it :rotfl::rotfl: - seen family today had a small moan - not nearly getting it all out or anything but just a bit of a moan and a few laughs and the laughs were much needed :)

Thanks DDFW...now  how do we get your car sorted, hey? Any more news?

unfortunately i can't go too much into it on an open forum as its such a specific situation but the car will cost me more than a months wage to fix, it may cost me more than i paid for it originally :( I really need to put the anger i feel about this behind me. Thank you for caring - if you knew all the things being in a fix this week has thrown at me in terms of people letting me down you'd know how much that means. It really is a good thing the support on here.

Hope you have a good weekend x

Dearest DDFW..that's fine. We are here for you. Really sorry life has been so hard this week with lots of disappointment, but here's hoping November turns out better than October!

dangers..well done. Not always easy to do. Have to say the M5 can be a bit of a b&gger, glad I am only on it around once a week.

    So..today..
-OH watching movie trailers whilst I sit here cruising here and reading the paper. After a bit of a row yesterday :( much better today. Have to say when work is stressful we don't always pull together but each go into 'hunker down' mode.. You would think by our age we would know better..but all good now and looking forward to going out this eve.
    - OH has managed to use a knackered PC to set up a new home cinema/music set up for the family in the lounge. He is really chuffed and only bought a new speaker and then spent minimal amounts on some stuff from Maplins Think I mentioned this before but it's really come together this week. He has also sorted a decent back up and storage system which was well overdue!
    - meal planning done for the next fortnight. Inventory of freezer done and OH leading on that..so drum roll for lots of immaculate spreadsheets...yes of course he has typed it all up so that it can be printed out and put on the fridge!!:rotfl: crazy thing is that in the freezer alone we probably have enough for 2 months of good quality meals..bonkers really
    - YS'd pizzas bought. 2 for £1. Great value. Also huge bag of salad, fruit and veg from my local greengrocers for £9 including ..99p for a huge pineapple and 10 avocados for £2:j
    - rose hip and apple jelly made by OH. Apples from the allotment and rose hips foraged from our walk yesterday near dangers.. ;) Tastes delicious. At this rate of preserving we could live off bread and jam all winter :rotfl:
    - heating off most of the time...
    - planning Xmas...exciting :D we think we will go and see The Hobbit as a family. Much cheaper than the theatre which we also love but need to cut down and we will love it I know

Think that's it :D hope everyone is doing well,

And after that lengthy post :)..more news..

We have talked and think we will go for a DF date by end of the FY (give or take 5 days!) so 31 March 2014. Still pretty good going and we will keep the pressure on, but hatching a plan to do something nice for everyone over Christmas ( still in a frugal way ) which will be tricky if we have absolutely no cash. Plus I work best with a stretch target rather than impossible one :rotfl: and the extra months will help me with that.

£100 expected from Ebay in next few days and another 10 items ready to photo and list which if they all go could be another £100...slow work preparing all the items but worth it. Just wish OH was as keen as I am on that particular method of fundraising!

Nah, for once it wasn't the M5 that was misbehaving - we were over in Cardiff and it was one of the 'A' roads.

I'm intrigued as to where you got your rose hips from - I take it, it wasn't from the 'zoo'.

Aha..along the nature paths/ bird hides to Portbury Dock..

    And there's a surprise. It's usually the M5 isn't it?!!

Thanks beanielou, I think so and I will aim to be below £5k by the end of 2013 so the M&NA card gone and making good inroads into the VC..

Well we had a great night last night. 3 amazing bands and a great atmosphere in a tiny club..catching up with people we haven't seen for ages too..we did buy some drinks but basically it was a free ticket and lifts there and back! What an MSE evening!:)

Think it will be a low key day today. Have to buy fuel :( as driving on fumes. Much as a hate T£sco I have started to use them for fuel only and have a TCC so I can accumulate points for trips out etc. Think that's it.

Like Mrs T planning to spend nowt on groceries other than F&V, milk and porridge oats. No one seems to be missing cereal! :) We also have plenty of loo rolls and cleaning stuff in so this month should not be a hardship :rotfl:

Now just willing the Ebay items to go higher..wish me luck girls and boys!!

    Have a good day all.

That sounds like a really good idea to me, takes the pressure off whilst keeping the focus there. Plus I'm celebrating a big birthday in March so will have double the reason now
