Hi Brizzle, just popped along to say hi.
Have no work today so have spent the morning doing 2 loads of washing which is now drying on the line, making HM biscuits (including some for the freezer), HM bread and HM soup and in between sitting down and reading through your diary. Which I have now subscribed to.
You've come a long way on your journey to becoming debt-free.
We've had a foreign students stay with us on a couple of occasions and it worked out really well but we now have a boarder who stays Mon-Fri which works out great as we still get the weekends to ourselves.
I have a busy week starting tomorrow but will drop by later in the week to catch up with the goings on in the brizzle household.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Hi guys
Lovely to hear from you all and hi Box of Fluffies..thanks for subscribing:wave:
Haagen Dazs...brilliant stuff...I love ice cream..as you can probably tell, after all we have an ice cream maker:rotfl: sneaky birthday present for OH when he reached a big number last year..was that for me or for him I wonder??!;) it does mean I don't miss the high octane stuff like HD that's for sure ( cos I can make my own!)
Yes it does show you how we can have lovely times without spending loads of wonga doesn't it. Thing is for me it isn't second nature yet so I do have to consciously think about it and plan the weekends...but then I love planning so that's ok:T spontaneity is out as it tends to involve a cash outlay!
Hair dye was good but I will need a cut this weekend..resorted to a fringe trim in front of the mirror today...wow that really is rock bottom ( or my hairdresser will think that..I will get ticked off when I see her!) but needs must. It's made me able to last another week anyhow.
Today was a LSD. Just a few groceries as DD2 had a tooth extraction and a filling. Embarrassing and fairly horrific. Made me feel a very bad parentand hated seeing her in such pain. Dentist was lovely too but it meant I went to sm for soup, yoghurt and soft bread to cheer her up...and a few extras went in. OK they were reduced but if I stay away from the sm then I don't spend...I go in and I see 'bargains' so I spend...it's an unfortunately all too simple a formula so why do I still do it..one to ponder. I will add up the groceries account this eve when OH ( and his phone where we record everything) is home and see how we are doing on our grocery reduction goals. Maybe that will help me resist?? Away for work for a couple of nights so bizarrely that should help me resist too.
Wood burner is on. We had a load of logs ordered. Can't remember if I said that but they are a huge builders bag full and it's the first purchases of wood this winter. Makes such a difference to the house and means we snuggle up in one room rather than being all over the house...much more friendly and as DD2 is still under the duvet feeling sorry for herself it's nice to be together
Paid in cash raised from selling the car today and made a PAD..will transfer money to OP pot against mortgage shortly.
Not sure about other stuff...will need to download a book for my Book Club shortly. That'll be it re my spends. OH has his regular counselling this eve so that £40 gone but I think ( or do I hope?) it's making a difference to how he feels and it's so important to all of us that he feels strong.
Anyhow sense I am wittering..thanks for staying with my musings! off now to look at some other diaries!
Bye all

My DH cuts my hair for me, I haven't been to a hairdresser in years. He doesn't do too badly though I have to keep an eye on him to make sure he uses proper inches, and not 'man inches' :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Ooh..and to make it all EVEN better...have just checked online banking. Made 2 PADs and noticed that OH has been paid £150 for some freelance work. Good stuff. Everything helps and it's even better when it's unexpected.
Am not sure whether to keep the discipline and put against OP pot. If boiler needs more work:( then may keep it for that. Will keep it close :rotfl: while I think about it.
Will leave bar soon and do my expenses. As everyone on here knows I am behind! Still have a cold so an early night after looking at some work stuff is in orderMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hope you are enjoying your "Me Time " brizzled and that glass of SB. Good luck with the expenses, I am totally behind with mine as well, this whole money saving lark has taken over my brain and everything else seems to be going not he back burner !
Great news re the freelance money coming in , hope you make a decision on what to do with it after pondering a little !

Hello All
Well, my diary had slipped to the second page of my subscribed threads..everyone must have been busy!! Must start reading some later! OH has gone to get DD2 from school so all is calm for about 5 minutes more!!:)
Its been a productive NSD (apart from ebay fees!) day. OH and I havent left the house:rotfl:...yeah, yeah...:rotfl: its not what you think, its been tidy, clear, throw out all the time. Have been solidly clearing the study of years of accumulated carp. Feels very liberating.
And we found treasure...:j
OH says he knew it was worth something but even he was gobsmacked to see a game he has, in similar condition, listed for $350!! OK well it is from 1978..but even so. Lets hope it clears something and the omens are good (unless that was a listing error but it looks like its from a professional games collector/seller). OH must have had that game just sitting in the study for about 3 years:mad: good job I didnt throw it out! (I was tempted to lots of times!!) Maybe we should try his Stars Wars stuff from his mums next... (we have been married 15 years, he left home about 22 years ago and he still has stuff there..its madness!)
I have listed 9 items on EBay. Found it quite easy in the end so no excuse not to do more of this more often. The postage is tricky though as I am keen to get everything as 'signed for'. Had to guess so hope I don't come unstuck as some items are heavy. But again.. a couple of items OH said would never sell..well similar items are going for over £20 each..they haven't sold but another good omen. OH is also listing CDs on Amazon. Bizarrely some of the ones that Music Magpie wouldnt take now are listed for loads of money..just shows you fellow MSErs..its sometimes best to hang onto stuff for another go at selling later!
5 bin bags of paper recycling or rubbish have been cleared from one small room:eek: scary really. I feel more in control now and quite chirpy:T and its cheaper than therapy!
As ever I think the 2 days we have without the kids for this and the 2 days over the weekend with will fly by (and we wont achieve all we want to I am sure) but its fun to make an impact. Feels like we (OH and I) are pulling forward together!!
Hope everyones having a good day. Off to post on the small things thread..
