Thanks jwil, how are you? Will drop by your diary later.

Have found someone to also look after students for last weekend. Will give them some cash for it but it's a great result.

Laters..off to spend some quality time with the DDs now!! :-)

    Hi all

    Thanks for dropping by.

We haven't had students before but we had an amazing childcarer living with us for years whilst she also did a degree. So know what it's like to share although she pretty much kept herself to herself at weekends etc. however she was older than these guys and very very lovely so not under any illusions it will be the same as having 2 teenagers in the house!

I think some of what gives me confidence is that we met the head of the language school last year when we thought about doing it last year..although the dates didn't work out that time. She is very organised and has been coming to Brizzle for years. The students broadly leave at 8am and come back around 7pm so it's around family meals, making another packed lunch and a bit around their weekend classes I think. Not very onerous as we will be doing stuff as a family anyway..and it will all be MSE using National Trust memberships, free cycle trips to the docks, free museums etc. so all in all I think we will get a lot out of it too..it will be nice to show people our lovely city.

Best of luck PG but I think given the money on offer and the fact it's tax free, then if you can find a good language school then I would give it a go! :-)

    Hi all

Not a lot achieved today but we do seem to have sold the car. OH promised to MOT it before it went..could be risky  but done now...and they should be collecting tomorrow and paying in cash. That should then pretty much kill the evil BC bill!! yay:j

  • excellent news onthe car :D

My aunt has had foreign students come to her for years. She says it's easy money, you make them a breakfast give them a packed lunch, they usually eat dinner out but if not just make extra of what you have and you don't see them all day. they are too busy exploring the city/town with friends on their days off from school/whatever they are there to do! I so wish i had the space because I would def do it!! :)

WOO HOOO!!!!!! Thanks for all the good wishes I am sure it helped!!

Yes my news is that the car passed with nothing needing to be done at all..thanks too to my lovely local garage who never seem to charge very much for anything.. Me and OH LOVE you!! We are now £2075 richer...so that is, in divine symmetry, almost enough to pay off the BC bill. I will use £2 from the change pot in the kitchen to pay it off in full...sorry to be so rambling and poetic but it's a great feeling!( and you MSE guys know just how good selling stuff and reclaiming a debt feels:T)

Other than that quite a low spend day. Have just posted on the small things thread so did all the usual stuff like charging phone at work. Did spend £3 on my sandwich at work tho..and haven't done my expenses for last week which really mucks up my cash flow but will do asap. I also wrote to the insurance company about my claim so am hoping they now have all the paperwork they need and they will reimburse me. Still got the dreaded tax return to do...but think I need to really gear up for that one :(

House looking nice after the decorating. Still need to move stuff around but it will look so much better. A real lift when you walk through the door. OH and I were talking about whether we try and do some more rooms this Spring...lord knows they could do with it. It helps to have goals y'know:p

Off to pop in on some diaries!!
