We always had foreign students in when we were growing up - it was a good experience all in all.
Hope you had a good evening!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

It's called decluttering brizzle
No point in having this stuff lying around the house.

Decluttering is in full swing:D
But the real work was with the dried black eye beans BB August 2010... Cooked up now..ready for salad with spring greens and lemon juice..and for bulking out meals later..
Chicken joints chopped and in with veggies and various beans in SC too..ready for family for tomorrow as away for work again..mine will be a steak and chips :rotfl: ( and I ain't joking!!)
Did lapse though and bought some baking tins online today. After 7 years of burnt (bottomed and uncooked tops) cakes from my non fan gas oven have given in and am buying some double layered tins...cheaper than a new oven I guessIt's great for meat and stuff but a real stress for cakes and biscuits. Now I am doing even more HM cooking it should pay for itself in terms of making it a joy rather then perpetual reworking of recipes to take into account my oven's idiosyncrasies...
HM marmalade is lush..did I say..and with HM choc cookies all I now need to do is get DD1 to finish homework and DD2 into bed...wish me luck!!
Or....maybe I'll just have another glass to get me throughMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

ahh i'd say the baking tins are definitely an investment
we bought new pans in Jan as we'd had ours 4 years and they were a$da's basic range which were supposed to have been replaced after 6 months (we never did get round to saving the money for it though lol) and after the family complained for the hundredth time about little black specks in their mash potato i gave in and bought some new ones
and they actually do make cooking much more of a pleasure now so all good! And we won't die of teflon poisoning either rofl!

Ive just bought those squishy cake tins, so much easier to wash up. I wish they made baking trays and tins in the same stuff as things dont seem to stick to it as much.
Hope the wine went down a treat brizzled ! I am thrilled with the snow, I can keep mine outside the back door and its chilled to perfection without hogging lots of room in the fridge !:rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Liking it..a wine chiller just upside the back door that you don't have to power..RESULT!!
On good form. Back home for a fleeting visit from work..can you tell when I am about as I spend ages on here posting:D:rotfl: and then when I am away..I can!!
Anyway.. DD1 reading late story to DD2... Now that really is a result of top class delegation skills ( if I say so myself!) and I am posting here and catching up on FB with friends.cup of tea rather than wine but you can't have everything in life!

PS Students stay for 3 weeks and the language school are paying £350 each. It will be tax free ( i think) and we will have 2 staying I think. I would really recommend this to people. Even if it's not your cup of tea long term surely for 3 weeks anything is possible...and you never know.. you might even enjoy having guests!!
My kids will have to bunk in together for the time the students are here but that's all part of growing up and contributing to being part of the family in my book!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi all
Sorry haven't posted for a while but away for work and then me and OH had a lovely weekend away. Just back! OH also with a potential car buyer..first one so fingers crossed please everyone!
We did spend quite a lot on some lovely dinners but took our own wine ( and even a bottle of champers!), bought bread and cheese from the sm around the corner for lunch and used a lovely free carrot cake ( free as given a voucher as a co@p member). The hotel also gave us lots of freebies including free wireless, breakfasts and cookies! We used their gym and spa loads too. So a great weekend.
We did treat the ILs just now to a nice dinner which we used a 25% off voucher for so that was good.
The hens are laying again despite the cold..way to go girls!! We are now drowning in eggs so will decrease the regular order and also make loads of scrambled eggs for tea.
Need to pop into some diaries now..have missed you guys and also the small things thread... Will also update my sig. It's not perfect but the PADding is definitely making a difference.
Hope everyone has had a great weekend
