Just to draw any yellow sticker fans attention to the CO op thread, as there are some multibuys kicking in on reduced items at the moment which are very positive. Details over there, but I got 4 salmon fillet meals, 2 bacon chop meals, 2 breaded haddock and 2 minichicken meals ( all for 2 people) for £12.
Co-ops do vary but seem to run some national promotions. This is in Essex.0 -
Just been to Sainsbugs and it was absolutely heaving - I guess because its near the end of the month. All we got was asparagus, lemons and bananas for 25p and a big bag of chillies for 20p. Slim pickings indeed.I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

Went to Mr T at 2.15pm that seeems to be around the time roughly that they decide to start doing the yellow stickers down to the last prices, the second lot, I was really  because one SA did it well away from the actual clearance reduced section everyone was in (happend to go past it by chance as wanted to tell my OH something) there was just me and another lady and instead of sharing she was a grabber, a real fast grabber, whatever it was she was grabbing, so I asked about the tapas being reduced and she said yes she was waiting for the tickets to come out of the machine, so I grabbled all three and gave her 1, she never said a word, just took it, some people are beyond rude...
Then in the actual reduction section all the meat was going ot be reduced and the man said to the SA 'if you are going to reduce the meat again love, I will have it all' the SA never actually answered him but he got the lot...
Then in the fish counter section the salmon instead of being reduced bit by bit was being bagged up so I got there and this man was boasting to his wife he had loads of salmon for £3, I so wanted to take it out of his trolley him and her were going on so much:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
In Mr t IT was rude and everyone for themselves, climbing over each other to get to it, in morries I stay on the side, so everyone can see and I am not in anyones' way and it is much more civilized and sharing, I hated Mr T.
Having said that I got cornish pasties from £1.49 to 11p
A pizza express pizza £5 to £1
savoury eggs 45p from £2
Carvery ham 64p instead of £3
paella tapas and various other ones 74p instead of £2.49
mini fish and chips 33p instead of £2.99
chicken and sweetcorn pasta 19p instead of £1.50
Gu lemon sorbets 72p instead of £2.49
Nothing really to make a special trip for as we did because everyone else was so upfront and greedy, not sharing and rude so will stick to morries.
They had loads of eggs but everyone was moaning that they were not reduced enough to 88p so no one got those.
Oh some chorizo 99p from £3 straight in the freezer and 77p sausages instead of £2.49 some things yes but they were a fight to get and not into fighting:rotfl:0 -
Hi!
I feel like I had a good haul tonight. I went to my dad's gym tonight as I've canceled my council one ( never use it). My dad with his gets one free pass a month so used that for Feb - it's a prviate gym so the changing rooms and the pool are just a bit better! (saune jacuzzi and steam are pool side!!). So free visit!
On the way home, decided to pop into Sainsbugs to see what whooppsies they had - knew Pears soap was on offer so thought why not. I was soooooo glad I did!! Here's what I got -
2 Sainsbug cheese and bacon quiche at 20p each. (reduced from £2.19 each)
Basics cornish Pasties 24p ( reduced from99p)
Baby Potato Salad 15p (reduced from £1.55)
Basics veg samosa 5p (reduced from 55p )
Mini prok Pies 6 pie 17p (reduced from £1.72)
Basics camembert 14p (reduced from £1.42)
JS Piri Houmous200g 12p (reduced from £1.25)
JS Steak Puff pastry Slice 4p (reduced from 96p)
And now for the big buys!
Imp Leather Japanese spa shower creme 94p (half price - for when I go to dads gym)
2 pears soap 125g 64p (BOGOF)
Total - £3.19
Total saving = £14.70
SOme of this is going in the freezer, some for hubby's lunch and some for my lunch, and some for store cupboard!!
I'm chuffed.....
Snowy:j I feel I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe :j0 -

Well done on getting your whoopsies. You desreve some after that ordeal. On one whoopsie hunt I was trying to look on the higher shelves when this obnoxious man with his wife tried to stand in front of me barring me from reaching for anything to see the price. He then reached straight across my face to get something nearly knocking me out in the process. It shocks me to see the lenghts that some horrible people will go to - however justice prevailed (or karma)when a few minutes later I saw him get a trolley right in the back of the ankles. Might have even been another unhappy shopper:D getting their own back. I just had to smile to myself.

When I first started uni, I was down Sainsbury's almost every night before they shut... throughout the course of the week I'd end up with about a week's shopping for a fiver!
Reading through this thread made me want to pick my regular hunting habits back up again so popped down the other night (Thursday I think). Nabbed myself a double pack of avocados for 25p, a bag of potatoes for 30p and a loaf of Vogel's for 50p. Definitely going to start making some time in the evenings to nip down and have a nose0 -
On the subject of rude people - I have been fairly lucky so far, only time I've had anything approaching bother was when in Tesco's (the night of the 90% off everything including meat), a young girl obviously thought I should be leaving everything for her. We were the only 2 there and I was taking half, which seems fair to me! I see her and a couple of her friends about quite often, and one of them tried to run me over with a trolley in Asda! Coincidence I hope... :rotfl: Then in Asda when I got the last lot of bargains a guy with a basket barged past me to get some yogurts, so he was loudly told off. Other than that it's been fine.
Went into Morrisons for a big shop, stocking up on a few bits (like I nedd to, oops) and getting the petrol voucher too. Went to the bigger store about 8 miles away. Happily I got to the reduced fridge just as the woman was doing 3rd reductions.Got chatting to her (always good if possible!), and she even offered to reduce anything I was waiting on, though she's not supposed to, told her it was okay though I was just waiting to see prices etc.

2 x cherries - 20p each

Will use some of the cheese today to make a batch of broccoli and cheese soup, will feed me and the baby for lunch for most of the week. And was pleased to get some of the new veggie meals reduced, will be good to see what they're like. They also had some of the veg masala and veg and bean chilli pots reduced, but I don't eat spicy food, so left those.
 Mummy to an amazing little girl0
