Can't believe some of the reductions in this thread. I think the most I've ever seen in our Tescos or Sainsburys is 25p off :rotfl:

Yesterday for example I was in Tesco by chance 10 mins before it shut and there was a pizza with an expiry date of that day with just 10p knocked off. Seems they'd rather throw it away in our store than reduce it a lot!

My local (and big) tesco can be like that. I remember a loaf of bread had been reduced by 4p once, ridiculous!

sort of reduction today. butchers selling 4mini edams 4 for £1 so 25p each.

might pop into spar later have £2 burning hole in pocket!

Not getting superbargains like everyone else.

tried 2sainsburys now near us at night reductions rubbish
tesco metro and express both rubbish too.

    has morries definatly changed policy?
wondering if worth the trip t morries to look for 9p bargains as my bakery stockpile finally running out!

computer fixer-I stalk items too and miss its all about timing.
other day was hovering in co-op and so much competition couldent get there fast enough co-op still best here but bit scary. for some reason smaller co-ops rubbish.

spars still my best bet .a;ways get 1 or 2bits everytime go in adds up over week especially if its meat as thats a meal then.

    new grocery challenge £200/£250 feb

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON:D,Onwards and upward2013:)
  • Wish I could get whoopsies as good as you. Don't do too bad so shouldn't complain but your stores are sooo generous lol. Best buy (and only one yet tbh from co op) were the yogs I picked up for 80p down from £3.65 - supposedly!

I just try to time it right and ask when going to reduce or come back later, never buy unless real good day before best before as usually not great reduction, on day of use by everything is generally between 10-40p depending who reduces it.

Is a small co-op thats had a !!!!!! range since before xmas, dont think they have stock levels right yet, am hoping remains that way :)
  • i never find them great reductions central london

Gailey, I'm lucky, not a great deal of competition usually, have only seen a couple of people looking at reduced stuff on rare occaisions, im just round corner so easy to pop in a coupl times as depending who is on and if busy with deliveries, reduction times vary between just before 6 and 8ish

Just try most nights when if im at home and do really well as you know.

Makes me wonder if loads were thrown out last week as one guy did say if I didnt take so much there would be loads more waste :(

Oh, I forgot I will need a bit of my reduced butter - 2p + couple garlic cloves (5p for 3 bulbs - 1/4p) + couple tablespoons white wine vinegar, so add another 5p onto my meal for tonight lol

OH and the pack of parma ham 20p, will edit original post lol

Just wish everyone could do as well as I do, I cant believe how lucky I am here, my sis and parents are loving the food parcels I give them as they stay about 30 miles away and are lucky to get anything better than half price

    Take care :)

Ooops, sorry i forgot to put it was Mr T. I have had the tapas from Mr T before and for something ready made it was lovely-great for my monday girls night in as hubby works away mon to fri each week....they are always very impressed at my bargains.

I have been working out how long it takes to get what i get and i think i spend on average 5 hours in Mr T each week (i tend to go in twice a week on the odd occasion 3 times), considering i usually get a min of 85% off it is well worth it-i figure as i am a sahm that's part of my contribution as we eat amazingly well and would never be able to afford the things we have been doing. I splashed out 2 weeks ago and spent £7 on a huge rib of beef off the meat counter (it was over £18 full price) but the quality and taste was really worth it. We decided we wouldn't bother with valentines cards/flowers/chocs this year so when i found this fantastic joint we had that as our valentines gift to each other!!LOL

Well we have just had the lamb for dinner this evening-only had to cook the rack for 15 mins and it was amazing....i am sure it tastes even better when its 95% off.xx
