Well I think everyone must have been at the boots sale today and avoided my local tesco. There was absolutely loads of meat this afternoon (lots of finest) all with 70 per cent off. It was one of the best yellow stickers shops I have ever done! I spent £23, used a £3 off £20 as well and got enough meat to fill mine and my two growns up kids' freezers. I only bought one thing without a yellow sticker and that was some paracetomol which amazingly the price had dropped in the Big pricedrop from 45p to 40p. First price drop I have noticed in the things I buy everyday. I love this yellow sticker challenge and think I enjoy it more than couponing from the old days.0

Good shopping trip tonight. 2 pack of pork loin £3.99 (reduced from £15!), pain au chocolat 29p, muffins 9p, rhubarb crumble 45p (from £2.19). I did well and avoided the bread because my freezer is so full. Its so hard to walk past 9p bread. Annoyed I didn't pick up the 15p mozerrella - didn't realise it can be frozen, never mind next time.0

Hey there everyone, im new to this site (or should i say i have "lurked" for a long time but couldnt figure out how to join in with the convo's). Been into buying yellow stickers now for about a year but i am still a newbie at it in my opinion and with 2 young kids and a hubby to feed i found things very hard when he was made redundant and you guys on this site made me realise i can make things work! Was out on a sticker hunt tonight and got a few bits and pieces! heres my "wee" list
Puff Pastry - 29p
Lamb Steaks - 75p
6 x Some packs of bacon - 44p (YES I WAS VERY GREEDY!:o)
2 x Bread - 19p
3 x Potatoes - 24p
A nice beef - from £11.26 to £2.65
2 x Lemon Muffins - 34p (ALL GONE!)
Wholemeal hotdog baps (12) - 57p
Parsnips - 19p
2 x Large flat mushrooms - 29p
Large chicken legs (6) - £1.00
Got pork joints and loins over christmas and chopped some up to make chops but im sure they wont be long running down!
Thanx everyone for helping me when i didnt think i could cope without a wage but this site has helped me alot over christmas and i hope maybe i can help people too now.0 -
I went back to mr s in the end and bought the key lime pie reduced from 3.00 to 80p. Figured I would try freezing it and as you said you can buy frozen cheesecakes. I did notice that all the packaging was cardboard so took it out and wrapped in greaseproof paper and put in freezer bag as thought it may stick to cardboard and when defrosting the base would end up soggy. Maybe this is why it said do not freeze as frozen ones are normally in foil containers.
Also got carrots 25p
Pack of 5 peaches 50p
So my most successful trip to date. There was no meat though.
They did have asparagus reduced from 3.00 to 75 p and a hard sausage type thing - can't remember what it was called - but wasn't sure what to do with these?
HOWMUCH thanks for your adviseMe, DH, DS10 and DS60 -
Morning:D went last night to Morries and got the money back from the 2 over charges I had and hung around for a bit whilst the SA reduced the items for a second time, she hates us all, seriously she does, she is tight lipped, snarly, turns her back on all of us and refuses to engage in any conversation:rotfl:
I tried talking to her, asked her how Morries do their prices as some of the things she was yellow stickering were a lot more than what I had previously bought them for and that was the final reduction, she said they have tiers, the first is maybe 50p, the second is a few £ off and the third is it has to leave the shop now, so it goes for silly prices like 19p etc, never seem Morries give any meat etc at that cheap price bread and maybe cakes yes, not even their fruit, I keep reading about on here how lucky you all are to get fruit so cheap but it never happens to me.
Went to the fruit section and it was still just 50p off and the flowers the same as well as the bread, no cheeses from the deli at all.
I have decided to stop having to go all the time if I get any bargains then I will buy it all, not dither and dather, the restairant owner who took all the chicken did not so much as look back, that is going ot be me:rotfl:
So got pretty much the same again, Paellla, currys, mini chicken diced, corn fed drumsticks, pizzas, they had so much cheese again you would think that Morries would learn to order less because if you look at their reductions it is pretty much the same line over and over again, they cannot shift it or have not enough people interested in eating say king bhurma curry so order less?
Whilst they are not ordering less it is my gain, all the items were around the £1.15/£1.35 mark same as it always it, amazingly I got a raspberry cheesecake in a little pot that was £1.80:eek: to 19p £1.80 for what 2 mouthfulls:eek:0 -
Gailey - re kids party - I wouldn't do individual bags/ boxes/ cartons as you are basically paying for packaging that gets chucked away - 22p per bag soons adds up when its lots of kids and will only end up in the bin.
All the kids partys I have been to have done plates of sarnies/ rolls, maybe some slices of pizza or mini sausgaes, veg sticks, jugs of squash then plates of biccies after. Cake to take home. One party did hotdogs which all the kids loved.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
