Thanks you TakeThis. Is that to help with my internet connection? That is my main priority now. I appreciate your help, just curious as to why you didn't post it here so others that are trying to help also know what I'm doing to try to avoid confusion?? Just wondered?0

My solution is a clean install. So I need to know precisely the machine that you are using and whether any relevant hardware has been changed.0

Update without me doing anything else atm (followed most of closed instructions on page 5 upto & including resetting internet Settings)
IE: BBC page did load eventually but lost connection when I tried to follow a link diagnostics "succesfully restored" didn't say what. Currently trying to load. 3 other sites all trying to load. The IE symbol in the tab at the top is whizzing round but not a lot happening.
Google chrome: BBC not fully launched, others not loading at all. On attempt to load google mail "SSL connection error. Unable to make a secure connection. This may be a problem with the server or it may require a client authentication certificate that you don't have. Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): SSL protocol error"0 -
Thank you TakeThis. Just before I try more new things though is it possible to back track a little to see if I've done anything wrong that can be ammended?? Everything was hunky dory at 7pm yesterday & I thought I was onto a winner! There must be something in the steps I followed in post 72 page 4 because it was following the reboot then that I've had problems accessing the internet. I just feel the more new things I try the more complicated it will get without first retacing my steps. Hope that makes sense.0

Just follow my instructions and post the results. You can fiddle about with the other stuff later.
Already seven pages and more than one hundred and twenty posts.
A clean install is best.0
