Still no money dispite the Urgent payment supposed to have been arranged to tide me over. Have had to borrow from my Dad in France!. Not happy bunny.
Tired, long day, been looking after both the grandchildren today.
Early night I think. Have a First Aid Course other side of Northampton tomorrow. All day one. DGD has got to go to her Mothers for the day with her twin helping out!. Ar Hem. DS and his girlfriend are also going to be about. Yep. all eventualities covered. (I hope).
I am going to have a salad for my evening meal, and DGD wants her Scooby Doo pasta. Easy then. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning, well still no funding in the bank. So annoying. It was also not good to have to admit to my Dad that things were not OK with them being away as well.
I am not getting a reply yet from the council this morning. Maybe its too early. I have sent emails and left voice mail letters.
The first aid course was good, and I met another foster carer from Brackley. She said she has a friend with a little girl who lives on my street, so there may be a new friend for DGD. She took my business card, and is going to let me know when the next support meeting is. Apparantly there is a support group this side of Northampton that meets at the sure start centre in Towcester. So why didnt my social workers know about that one? Why was all my information about Ecton brook the other side of the county????
Its just a comedy of errors all the time.
Anyway I hope I am confident enough to deal with First Aid, on Chocking, bumps, burns, breaks etc and CPR.
But lets pray that I dont have to use it.
The weather has started to change, but I managed to get my washing done etc and out Saturday morning. But you will laugh at me.
I wondered why on earth it wasnt coming so clean. Looked again and I had bought Dishwasher tablets!!!!! I dont even have a dishwasher. That shows how rushed I was when I went shopping.
Been only getting the necessities as I need them while waiting for my money. I dont want to have to touch the stuff my Dad wired to me, unless I have too, becuase I will just have to pay it back when I get back from the holiday. Thankgoodness there was money put away for that. But I wont have any spending money unless we live on the poverty line for the rest of the time.!
Its time to look at the various insurance quotes now, and see whats the best deal I can get for the car, which is due to be insured by the 18th August.
I did some longer walking yesterday, shopping, and am rather achy today.
My arm was so bad yesterday after the first Aid Course. Well it was rubbish at the course and I had to stop doing the CPR. The extra driving didnt do it much good either.
I cut out another couple of dresses and a hat to make for both of the granddaughters. Maybe will manage a bit of sewing today. Depending on how much DGD lets me.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
p.s. on the plus side, the teenagers were galvanised into action, and apart from the washing mountain and Twin2's bedroom her house was done by Friday.
I was very relieved to see the difference when I popped in on Saturday after my course.
Twin1's was not brilliant, but adequate. Thats the next battle to tackle again. Still no sign of the charity that was going to help her.
Everything takes so long to get put in place. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Here is a picture of the little dress I made this morning. DGD is enjoying wearing it already.
(And I am not going to worry about the fact you can see her face, as she is no longer a looked after child.). There are enough pictures of her on facebook from the rest of the family as well.!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Hi Matymoo,
Yes she is very tall, and growing by the day it seems. Her new school uniforms are for the ages 6-7 not 4-5 and she will not be 5 until October.
I am in need of updating all her clothes as they are mostly too small. Her cardigans that Molly bought are still well used and will last the autumn anyway. But her trousers are all a bit tatty now, and so I bought some jeans in the charity shop last week. She doesnt have many good dresses, so its time to get the fabrics out of the loft and get making.! She is still in a size 11/12 shoes depending on the make though. So something isnt growing so fast.
I obviously havent been standing her in the manure long enough!!:T
How is the puppy? Time seems to have flown since you were over. I hardly even get to see Molly these days. My world is usually so full.
Yesterday the Social worker finally returned my call. She told me that the query had gone to one person, then was being dealt by another. That one department has said I dont have to pay back the bill they sent me, but when the payments are sorted out, I will still owe the difference in the child benefit amounts. Which is fine, I can pay that back at £5 - £10 a week, depending on what I can afford. Very gracious of them seeing as they still havent started paying me the correct money.
The person who is supposed to be dealing with that is not in until tomorrow it seems.
She has offered to bring me out £100 cash to keep me going. But I have said that I would collect it tomorrow when I am in Town as I would be nearly there anyway. So she can stay in the office and deal with all the other problems poor people like me get. My choice, she would drive out today, but as I have borrowed off of my Dad now, I am not in such a rush and wont be food shopping until Tomorrow or Thursday.
Its raining here at the moment, and was terrible in the night, kept me awake for ages. But it will be good for the gardens I suppose. I have enjoyed relaxing in the sun as much as possible, and sewng in the garden yesterday was nice.
I have some more sewing to do today, but I dont have all the accessories that I need to finish them off. Seem to have run out of elastic, and dont have enough of the lace I wanted. So I either have to think of something else of wait till I can search the loft (when DS is about- I wont go in the loft on my own).
I am trying to stay as up beat about things as I can, as ranting will only raise my stress levels, and then I get ill again. Its just not worth it. So I deep breathe, say " I will handle it, I can handle it, I have handled it" muttered under my breathe as often as its necessary.
All thats to the book that Littlesportscar sent me a few months ago. And the follow on book that I bought just afterwards.
Feel the Fear and do it anyway. Feel the Fear and beyond or something like that.
Time to get DGD her breakfast. She had a bananna when she first got up, but time for some toast for us both I think. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Love the dress and hat :T
Grrrrr to the latest funding fiasco
Puppy is almost a year old! Still a very good boy (mainly :rotfl:) who keeps me on my toes. We get plenty of fresh air and walks so he is doing me the power of good
Sorry you and Molly don't get much time together now:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Well I have been having a little trouble getting on the laptop. But hopefully it was just a glitch.
Spent the last few days cutting out patterns and sewing some of my black and white patchwork squares.
I havent received my regular funding yet. So being as careful as I can not to overspend. Except I am not doing as well as I should be. Some of the sewing has needed accessories to finish them off. Fatal.
Anyway. DGD1 has a skirt and dress, and DGD2 has a dress and hat made.
I have another dress for DGD2 cut out, and the pattern ready to make a coat for DGD1.
So I am keeping busy. When DGD1 lets me of course.
The weather has meant that every time I go to set up my machine in the garden I am bringing it back in again.
Altered some trousers for someone this weekend. Forgot how time consuming it can be. Oh well.
Time for catching up on the washing, even if I have to tumble dry. Some food shopping and going to visit the twins as well.
Keeping that close eye on the bank accounts so that I dont spend our holiday spending money, or the car insurance. I have to get my car insurance sorted out before the 18th. So research time. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
