I have decided to go to Portugal and blow the expense, so the flights are booked.. Just need to sort out the accommodation.
If my dream to retire out there is part of my overall plan, I want to go out and take a good look, and think better about what living out there would envolve. Rather then it just being a dream.
(although the flights were done before I realised that there was a problem with my guardianship funding!).

Hi mooloo, if I can help in anyway with info about retiring in Portugal let me know, as you may remember my folks live out there so can let you know the cost of living etc. my dad also has complex medical needs and is always talking about the amazing care he receives out there from the doctors and hospitals.

Hi, choccymoose, I had totally forgotten about your parents being out there.
I shall have to set aside some more time to have a "chat" about things. Glad that your dads care is good. Thats a relief anyway.
Of course the way the economy is going out there its probably a lot dearer out there now then it was when I put together my initial plans.
But with the retirement age stretching out, I suppose I have longer to get my health sorted to a better - level plain - and time to get some work/savings/life decisions.

I was awake for ages last night, so in the end I got up at 4am, made a cup of tea, wrote in my diary, and started to read the second book on Feeling the Fear and Carrying on anyway.
I wrote my affermations down, and scribbled away. I finally felt calmer, and ready to sleep just after 5am. DGD woke me at 7.
Although I had the strangest dreams, and at one stage I remember "watching" life go back and forth on fast forward, or fast rewind. It was the strangest feeling I have had in a dream. Although at one stage I thought i was in a mental hospital ward, and couldnt get anyone to listen to me, or get out. While the place was morphing around me, into chaos. (My life then!).
But I am feeling calm, although tired of course.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

No reply from the social worker about my funding. So that will mean no money next week as well. Still havent had the petrol money either. Thats since APRIl.

My lawn mower couldnt hack the back garden so ended up buying a recycled petrol mower today. DS also borrowed some money. So I have written it all down and told him I want 10% of his wages until its paid off. No point in wanting huge amounts as he will only want to borrow again.
Twin1 had a problem with a Debt Collector set on her by the council. So I have read the riot act at the council and told them what do they think they are doing setting them on a vunerable young adult. etc etc. They are going to investigate. Told them if they do not then I will expose them for all the Carp we have had.
The police liason officer rang me. Apparantly twin1 also had a problem with the family from hell again a few days ago. I am so fed up. That family need nuking!!
My whole day has been about everyone else.
Tonight I am going to have a glass of wine, my lamb casserole, and then a bath if I can get the energy to get the left leg up and over the edge of the bath.
Convinced this wet weather is affecting my sciatica.!
Time to go. DGD wants a bath and we are running a little late. I got carried away on some sewing sights while she was watching Scooby doo

Mooloo, please ring social services tomorrow - they cannot expect you to bring up DGD on fresh air for food and petrol. I think they should be made to read your thread to realise that their slack attitudes towards your finances are damaging and downright bloomin' wrong.

    Do you know my dream?
Its to not have to write down my stesses here. To stop having a thread. Becuase the reasons that I started to write in 2007 were finished. Sorted.
#I would like to feel that everyone on my journey would be glad that the end had arrived.
    One day.
Tonight I am off to bed.
tomorrow I am duing my duty with my other grandchild.
Monday I will rise to the fight again.
    I have no other choice.

    One question to the universe?
Why when we think its starting to work, and all is sorted does something come along and stamp on it all. Squash it and cause a real mess up in life. (can i write that?).

I have read your threads Mooloo but never commented, but this bit about the money makes my blood boil.

I had a similar experience at the hands of our local Social Services, I won't bore you with the details! But I had spent out a considerable amount of money for my niece who was in care, SS wanted us to 'foster' her but I think that was a tick box exercise on their part. I spent the money at their request, and they loved it because it meant that we were doing all the running around for school uniform etc so they didn't have to. When it came to claiming the money back as they said I could I just got met with blank stares and shrugging of shoulders!

I ended up emailing the councillor for responsibility for Children's Services and getting nowhere, so I emailed the Head of Children's Services - things progressed, i got an email and phone call the following day and I was refunded about a week later.

I would try that route if I were you , and if you get nowhere tell them you will issue a corporate complaint - that was my next move.

Sorry if these are things you have already tried! You are doing such a good job under very difficult circumstances.

Don't bother with the social worker - they seem pretty useless up there - go direct to the Childrens services finance dept and ask what the problem is. when you had th efunding agreed did you get a letter stating what you would be paid and when? If so is there contact details on there?
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

Yes they did give a support plan, that was agreed. I will look it out and see where it is.
I have to agree they are useless up here! :p

collected DGD from her Mum's yesterday afternoon. For once when I had a call from her (5 minutes after grandad had dropped her off) it was actually from Mum to say come Later then planned as she was going to give her tea! This is progress. Usually 5 minutes after she is dropped its when are you coming, and can you come sooner as DGD misses you etc etc. Progress is good.
So last night I only had some toast, after having had a late cooked breakfast. I didnt really need to have a huge meal.
Today the funding is still not in the bank. Alas, so its the Paperwork chase today. I have my ATOS forms to fill in. Nearly forgot about them, and the Disability Living Accounts have to be done.
Bills to be paid etc etc.
The savings are about to be emptied, while I put some funds in the bank to cover the DD's etc etc. I dont want to go into Overdraft.
The credit card bill went out, but it doesnt show yet. Takes them a couple of days to show? Dispite it being in the same bank.
The next door neighbours are having thier front garden dug up, and a drive put in! That will mean even less parking space for me to use. Nolonger will 3 cars fit outside of our two homes, and as they have two cars, I hope they make room on thier drive for them both, or I will be stuck for parking. I already have to fight for space with those visiting the doctors across the road. Parking is a nightmare.
The digger started early this morning. Its raining so its going to be rather Muddy out there.
Time to get on. Dispite the rain I am going to walk DGD to school, as I think that I can walk that distance now. While I am much better. One of the Mums will give me a lift back.
