So fingers crossed that they will want someone and then we wouldnt have to deal with JSA, but possibly income support to make up his money if he doesnt get the right amount of hours. We will just have to hope that something will turn up soon for him.
.
If DS gets a job which pays less than the JSA rate he would only be able to be topped up with JSA if he carries on signing on.
Income Support is only for carers, single parents, 16-17 yr olds estranged from parents.
The reason he has to sign on weekly is like a form of punishment if he missed a sign on and also some people get it once a year as well just so you can prove willing but I don't agree as the cost of transport takes up a lot of the money they get.
If DS got a job that paid the same as JSA then the deduction from Housing Benefit would be £11.45 (or equivalent) whereas if he just did a few hours and got topped up with JSA(income based) then the deduction would be £0.0 -
If someone has not paid then instead of naming and shaming can you take them to small claims court and obtain a CCJ against them?
There will be money due up front but hopefully when they pay up you would get the money back.
I am happy to help with this and take you through the process.
I think you should PM us so we can be sure to avoid them in future.0 -

With so many followers on this thread I would be PMing for a month of sundays.
Its not worth a lot of money, just every penny counts to me, two lots of bunting is all.
Still not dressed eek. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Okay Sue.
Mind you there is a few parts of that rule that would have stopped things like Mikes Mob, and the Nonny Mouse, etc that have all been good things.
I appologies that I have obviously broken the rules rather a lot then, as I have had help/gifts and chatted via PM's.
Didnt several of us exchange information by meeting up in Bristol?
I hope that without being named the person does pay up. We know sometimes cheques go missing in the post, of course, but an explanation and an apology if they believe that's what happened would be good. Of course it's also possible that some disaster has struck. Let's hope not.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Yes I understand that Sue.
I also hope that nothing untoward has happened.
I have penned a letter today, and will put it in the snail mail. Rather then messages, incase they are not on MSE anymore at the moment.
The ESA messed me around and didnt pay in today, so yet another phone call to the Jobcentre and they said that they would make sure that its in this afternoon. ARGH.....
There was another set of letters from the council yesterday about my housing benefit and Council tax benefits, so I have had to go again this morning with all my paperwork, bank statements etc etc.
I am getting rather sick of it. I am so confused as to what I need to pay to my landlords now!
So that will mean another call to the housing to see if I am on track or in arrears again!
I am getting sick of dealing with the benefits agencies etc etc.
Its a nightmare.
The Adult socialworker team rang me, and they are planning to take someone from liveability to see my twin1 on Thursday next week. To see if they will be in a position to offer help for her in the home.
Fingers crossed that this will work. Liveability is a locally based charity, that runs from Brackley, and also is an amalgamation of two other charities, Shaftsbury and somethingelse. Anyway theire website seems to give me hope that they will be able to do something with the girls.
I am exhuasted. I think I will need a sleep this afternoon.
I am expecting DGD to be back from Nursery very soon. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Well the council rang me back about my complaint over the way I kept getting answer machines while trying to sort out my claim. Appologiesed and also have sent an email to the reception/switchboard asking them to consider telling people that they may be putting them through to an answer machine. So that you can have the information ready to leave on the dam machine!. Anyway we will see.
They also said that my claim for Council Tax has been processed and that I would be recieving a letter shortly.
That the Housing Benefit Claim is sorted, and I should now be getting most of that. Yipee. Then I can contact the housing and see if I am in arrears or in credit. Theoretically I should be in Credit, just, if I guessed the right amount of payments. But we will see.
Then I will actually set up a DD for the rest to be taken each month and I wont have to worry about forgetting to pay the rent.
I wasnt going to do that when they were messing me around, and suddenly have hundreds of pounds taken out of my account.
Also still need to build up a credit as when they change the way council benefits are paid, I will need to have money upfront, as its paid in arrears. So confussing at times.
My ESA was delayed, for no specific reason, but was in my account mid afternoon. Thankgoodness.
Today is the mid month point when most of my DD's go out. Wanted to have enough in the account without going into overdraft.
Although I do have an overdraft on my new account, I have never used it. Its more of a safety net. I try to forget that its there as its not my money afterall.
DGD is still crying in her sleep alot. Something is worrying her in her dreams.
DS finally found his wallet. In the speaker of his music system! twit.
I am off early to babysit for DGD2 this morning, so I will have to go in a minute and wake DGD1. Typically the day we have to be up early, she is still asleep. Normally its the other way around.
Food order from mr A coming on Sunday, with the extras to take away to Cornwall this coming week.
Biggest of Mooloo's and I are taking the girls. Fingers crossed its not a washout!.
I saw Molly yesterday afternoon. We had a good chinwag, it seems our busy lives, and appointments are set to get in the way far too much these days. It was good to see her though.
Although I seem to hog the conversation alot!. oops.
DS finally cut the rest of the back lawn, in the afternoon, just before the rain came. He is a lazy so and so at times.!
Right time to get on and get DGD up or we will be late. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
