Ha I'm about used to the nappies now I think - although the stink gets me everytime! Soooo much worse than when he was just BF!
I thought so too - and then she had asparagus. The stench that hit me when I walked into her room this morning...
But - on a more positive note: best night so far. No demands for milk, and not even demands for dummy after I went to bed! She slept from 7pm to 6am! :T0 -
Nutella, what a fantastic night!!!0

Mother & Baby Awards winners were announced last night:
http://jessicamilln.com/2012/11/28/mother-baby-awards-201213-and-the-winners-are/
Remember when we were talking about annoying musical toys, and I mentioned one that I made OH give away before I threw it out of the window? It's won silver in the 'best newborn sleep aid' category! That's the category I was testing for - and our favourite product didn't even make it onto the shortlistJust goes to show that although reviews and other people's opinions are useful, every baby - and mother - really is different
Turtle and Aimless, would love to hear how your opinions of the products you tested compare to the winners' list0 -
I wish people would stop making red hair jokes at my son's expense. I've got reddish hair and have never had much time for the 'hilarity' of ginger jokes but I've got no patience at all when they start on about Freddie.
Next time someone makes some 'quip' like 'Ooh, looks like he might be red like you. Here's hoping he grows out of it!' or some such, I might just reply 'Actually he's not remotely related to me genetically. We used an egg donor so why don't you go !!!! yourself'.
Is that a bit much?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

No, I think that'd be a fair comment. Alternatively, if that someone happens to be the mother of a small baby with no hair (and let's face it, the majority of small babies don't have much), you could also try 'well at least he's got hair!'0 -
I get what you mean fluff, I sometime think people just want something to say, I'm frequently told that A is huge for 10 months, or oooh isn't he tiny, does he eat? he has loads of teeth, or hardly any for his age. Unless you mean family? If that's the case I'd rip them a new one
Morning allOH off today and yesterday he got up with A yesterday so It was my turn today, my clever boy didn't wake up until just before 10. :j and when I went to get him was greeted with 'mum, mum, mum' lovely start to the day. SIL is spending a few hours with A today so we're going to the Xmas markets and We may sample a beer each at the beer tent
have a good day all xxx

No! Family don't say that - a) they've got red hair and b) they know about the donor.
I was asked the other day whether me and the OH had had genetic counselling to make sure I didn't pass on the 'ginger gene'. Am I supposed to find that funny?? It also shows a wilful ignorance of genetics - if I had managed to pass on my genes, I'd have had no choice but to pass on the ginger one. Being recessive, it's the only gene I have for hair colour. It's my other half (who's Dark English Mouse) who would have the choice of which gene to pass on and would determine Freddie's hair colour.
So there you go - unfunny AND stupid."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Fluff - no I don't think that's too harsh. I have found if you react with a sarcastic comment people generally shut up, sometimes you get they 10 second silence as they try to work out if you're joking or not.
Gilly - have fun today. Also well done Aaron! That's what I call a lie in!
Nutella - yay for a good night sleep!
Well ladies I have some sad news,we are officially packing up the jumperoo next week to make way for our Christmas tree. It feels like the end of an era.

Isn't sunlight brilliant at getting out stains? There's no hope of Freddie's vests drying on the line today, but at least they're not poo coloured any more"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
