Thanks katiechoc ill have a look on the website. I'm nowhere near ready for Christmas
Just had a look on the matalan website and they have a nice long sleeved bib so I think I'm going to get a couple of those on Friday when it's pay day.

Me neither sammie, although I did manage to exchange a gift yesterday that we were given when he was born  that we got two of. Got a rolling, light up drum thing from the early learning centre, going to hang on to that til Xmas.
I was just looking on the matalan website too! Need a new swimsuit as all I can find of mine is the bottom of a bikini that was on the tight side before getting preg so dread to think what it would look like now. November is not the best time to go swimsuit shopping though!

I bought a swimsuit from tkmax. Not sure if you have one near you but they always have a good range of styles. I found a polkadot boob tube style swimsuit from there which fits nicely.
Decided I'm going to buy the bubs today so just waiting for Noah to wake up. I can't believe at 27 years old I am too excited to wait until Friday to buy baby bibs!!
I know everyone else on this thread would be just as excited though!

hi ladies, need some advice, going to get a bus friday to go into town to do some christmas shopping but its the first time me and Maisie are getting a bus and going into town by ourselves, im so nervous she'll wake up on the bus and start screaming to be fed
we've been out before by ourselves but only for walks round the village.

Hi toni, all you can do is feed her before you go and hope for the best. the first few outings are dauntinf I was terrified and I had a screamy one. If she cries, you just need to comfort her as best you can. Good Luck you can do it.

Hi Toni, hope you and Maisie are doing well. It's completely normal to be a bit nervous whenever you do anything new with a baby, and I too was a bit anxious the first time I got on a bus with my LO. But trust me, you'll be fine. Be as prepared as you can be - feed her just before you leave, make sure she has a clean nappy and pick a time when you know she's going to need a nap. I time my shopping trips to coincide with LO's nap times, and usually walk for a few minutes before getting on the bus to make sure she's asleep before we get on it. How frequent are the buses and how long is the journey? If she does wake up screaming and you really don't want to stay on the bus, could you get off, feed her at a bus stop or a nearby cafe (whatever happens to be en route) and get back on the next bus? I'm sure you won't need to do this, but having a Plan B might make it seem a bit less scary. Alternatively, if it's a long journey, you could feed her on the bus - having some expressed/formula milk (not sure if you're BF or not) ready in a bottle will make things easier.
Does she have a favourite toy, anything she likes looking at etc? If so, bring it along - useful distraction on buses as well as when in shop queues.
Oh, and if you're going with your buggy, clear any clutter you might have sitting in the basket at the bottom so you can fill that up with your shopping and have fewer carrier bags hanging from the handles - makes it easier to get on and off the bus!
Although most people probably find a crying baby on a bus a bit annoying, the vast majority are understanding and patient and will not judge you or say anything. You'll be fine, honest. Big ((hug)).0 -
thanks very much ladies, im just such a worrier and cant stop thinking other people are judging me on how i am with her, if she was crying on the bus and i couldnt calm her down i'd probably cry myself but im not going to gain any confidence by sitting indoors so thats why im making myself get out and about. I breastfeed but im going to take some bottles with me just incase, the bus comes once an hour so we've got to get on it first which will be a task in itself, we live out in the sticks so first stop not in the middle of no where is in town which shouldnt take longer then 40mins. I didnt know if i could feed her on the bus or not, but if she needs it i will then, thanks for that0

Toni - agree with nutella re having space in your pushchair basket as it can be awakened with your hands full. Do you have to collapse the buggy to get on the bus or does it have wheelchair access?
