It sounds like a great way of paying for nursery.

My neighbours are idiots, their daughter turns up every day and parks in front of our house, where DP parks, and leaves the neighbours drive (her parents) empty  we wouldn't mind but she stays all day. It makes it really difficult to get the car out of the drive too so I asked her to move her car up a bit last week which she did, but then parked awkwardly again the next day! There is now her car, her partners van, next doors car parked on the road and nowhere for DP to park! There driveway is empty though! People really wind me up at times!

Omg that sounds like my mums house! Her neighbours opposite have 4 cars and only ever park 1 on the drive when they could fit atleast 3. They park on the road but close to my mums drive so to get on you have to go really wide.

My mums not fussed at all but it winds me up! X

What makes it worse is they are a pair of n#bheads too (the daughter and boyfriend). He started trying to give me an ear bashing one day as I asked if they could move up a bit so my mum could park behind them, considering they are blocking my drive he said no as they were only staying 30 mins and I was being picky! Needless to say when my DP arrived home and knocked the neighbours door the weedy boyfriend sh*t himself and moved the car. :p
Some people just have no courtesy for others.

When does your LO start? I bet yours is more expensive than ours, with you being in London. We are paying 37.50 a day 8-530 includes nappies, wipes and 3 meals. So about 480-500 per month as he is doing 3 days. Whats your fee?

Your plan sounds good! I think I may head to the retail park on Wednesday when I leave him for 3hrs and have a cake and coffee.

Are you doing the childcare vouchers? We both are. I paid the bill this morn with cash as my vouchers dont begin till end of month. However, apparently invoices are sent on 20th to be paid by 27th. I get paid last Weds of every month which may be after 27th....so not sure what I will do there.

    X

We'll be paying £792 a month for three days a week including nappies, wipes and 3 meals  We'll both be doing the childcare vouchers, so technically that makes it 'only' £644 thanks to the £148 tax saving. Could you ask the nursery for a different payment date, e.g. the 1st of every month? They may well be willing to show some flexibility - I'm sure you're not the only one in that situation.

My LO starts on 28th January with settling in the week before. I wasn't looking forward to going back to work, but I've just been offered a one-year secondment within my own organisation - it won't give me any more money, but it should be a much more interesting job, so I'm actually looking forward to going back to work now. I feel like my brain has turned to mush after 7 months off... I could never be a stay at home mum - I admire anyone who is, but it's not for me. I love LO to bits and I enjoy every moment I have with her, but I've discovered that I actually like going to the office :o And yes, you can all feel free to remind me that I said that when I start complaining about having to get up at 5.30am in deepest darkest February.... :p

Yikes. Thats a lot. Im going to mention it when I go in, I work for the county council so am sure others are in the same situation.

Great that you are happy to go back, I have mixed views. I want to earn my own income again and certainly dont hate my job. Hate the thought of missing out on Aiden though. I would have preffered 3 days a week but know I am lucky to have a day a week with him.

Not sure how I will get up and ready to leave by 740 am though! Planning on getting ready night before and sleeping with a dust sheet over me :rotfl:

By the way, we've had no poo since this morning! :j I thought LO was getting better yesterday, but then we had some serious diarrhoea overnight, so I took her to the doctors this morning. I walked in at 8.40am, told them I had a baby with diarrhoea that's got worse overnight and got a 9am emergency appointment! I was very impressed :) So glad we went - saw a lovely lady who did a proper check-up and concluded that everything was fine except the poo issue, so she recommended doing half strength milk bottles for 12 hours (i.e. same amount of water, half the amount of milk powder) and no solids except baby rice mixed with water, to give her tummy the chance to settle whilst still staying hydrated. So far it seems to be working - she's had three half strength bottles and didn't poo after the last two. We're to go straight back to the docs if she gets worse, and to bring a stool sample for testing if she's no better by Wednesday, but I hope this is it and she's on the mend now. :o

Haha love the dust sheet idea sunshine!

I can't believe how expensive nursery is  there's no way we could afford that. I'd love to be a stay at home mum - I know I kind of am but I'm also constantly worrying about not having work. Then when I do have work on I'm worrying about getting it done in time while looking after G! Today I've had no work on so I've been shopping and made some sausage rolls, can't wait til he's old enough to help bake/cook!

Jedi Jonathan has been going to baby sensory since he was 17 days old. Now he's starting to see things more clearly and can hold his head up a bit more if they do tummy time, he's getting more out of it. He loves the parachute being pulled up and down at the end of the session. He likes to look at the baby on the cushion next to him, and he seems to like the songs. He quite often has a feed around the time it's on, so sometimes falls asleep, but it's good Mummy time too as they make us tea and coffee and we can chat to other Mums.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Are you going part time then? I'll be doing compressed hours, so will be doing full time (35) hours in four days with Tuesdays working from home and Thursdays off. So the three days at the office will be long (leaving the house at 6.45am and coming home at 7.15pm), but at least it'll only be Monday, Wednesday and Friday so I'm always at home 'the following day' if that makes sense :o

We'll have to be superorganised, but I tell myself that millions of mums have managed before us :o The dust sheet is a great idea :D

I know what you mean - I have visions of LO and I spending lazy Saturdays decorating cupcakes! :rotfl:
