I have started to wear my (very long) hair down, as since he was born i have been scraping it in to a low ponytail or bun, and it has been splitting a lot where the hairband is - its in terrible condition now so wearing it down to try to give it a break. Reuben is...well for want of a better word....delighted! He finds my hair hilarious! I only have to swoosh it about a bit and he's giggling his little head off! Peekaboo with it gets big belly laughs, and he loves to put his hand in it while he's feeding.

Now i just have to get him to stop grabbing and yanking it ;)

I've had about a foot of mine cut off since I had Freddie. It took me a while to pluck up the courage but the tipping point came when he puked all over it :D

    Morning all,

Feeling much better here today. I called my mum in the end last night to ask for support and she dropped what she was doing and came straight round. She was brilliant and really helped. We’ll be seeing her again later.

Fluff - I sort of did what you suggest last night. Theo had fed (we are bottle feeding) at 6.15 and by 10.30 he hadn’t woken so I got him up for another feed which he fell asleep whilst having but still took the whole bottle even though he was asleep. He started making his strange noises about 3.00 but, on the advice of the hv and my mum, we left him to it as he hadn’t woken up. I knew he’d had plenty during the day and wasn’t going to starve. Just before 5.00 he woke up and started to cry for food. I knew he was about to wake up because the noise changed. So now I know that I don’t need to wake him because when he’s ready he’ll let me know. I’d never left him long enough to test him before.

He’s been in a much better mood today. I don’t know what has changed since yesterday but we’ve playing together on his baby gym and he’s been gurgling and smiling away like crazy! I am one happy mummy today :).

Just had a leaflet through the door about a new Kiddicare that has opened at Merry Hill. We can get 10% off our first purchase so I think I might take Theo at the weekend and treat him to a new toy :).

    Lovely!! :rotfl:

As for housework - it's a nightmare here because there's boxes of stuff everywhere, have tried to pack the things we don't use every day, but I just look around and see everything looks a state. Can't wait to get it all done and get out!
  • really glad you're feeling better today eleyn. Best thing you can do is be kind to yourself and just do what you have to do to get through regardless of advice from third parties. Maybe just because you talked to someone you're a little more chilled.

I just managed to melt half my bottles by forgetting to add water to the steriliser....

ON the upside I've started making my brothers christmas blanket...on the downside I have to do at least 4 squares a day to make it in time for xmas.

My LO is currenlty waking up on the hour at night and since learning to pull himself up has been resisting his naps like billy-o, he's a strong lad so I'm covered in bruises. Think he's suffering from a combination of teeth and a cold.

this past week he's uped his game a level and is everywhere....nowhere is safe and I am knackered!

Hope everyone is getting on ok - I'm going to defrost his lunch...curry today I think.

Good luck with your bidding Sammie! I need to get my act together and decide what we're getting him. I mentioned Xmas to the mil at the weekend and she said "no point getting him presents, he won't know it's Christmas" it's his first Christmas!!! Of course he's getting presents! Even if its only little bits with boxes and wrapping paper for him to try and eat!

I know someone who did that. Their little boy was only 3 months so they said he wouldn't know any different. I thought they might get him a few little bits but nope, not one thing. I wonder how they would of felt if everyone else hadn't of bothered. :(

My Vertbaudet order just arrived! The free dino is a lot bigger and better than I'd expected (imagine stacking rings in a soft toy format - that alone is probably worth the £10 I paid for the jeans & jumper), and it comes in a wonderfully noisy plastic bag which my little girl is currently playing with on my lap. The dino's still inside the bag, but I'm sure we'll get to him at some point! :rotfl:

He's out of the bag and she's fascinated by him! She's tasting the stacking rings one by one... Thanks again Turtle for that code - a true bargain :)
