Thanks for the link fluff
How are you getting on with the packing turtle? My oh just got a ton of stuff down from the loft to photo and get on eBay. Will be worth it when it's done (new media pc here we come!) but at the moment the corner of the living room is a huge pile of boxes. As if we don't normally have enough clutter!
Saw the doc this morning, he said chances are it was just a bug G picked up but it could have been the kiwi so we've to avoid that for a month or two before trying it again. He s about back to normal now anyway.
This is a silly question, but hope someone can help (and not laugh at how dim I am!) but if I want to give G a bit of dry toast to suck does it matter if its granary bread? The loaf I have at the mo has whole seeds in. Not sure he could choke on them really but I'm super paranoid after this whole kiwi malarkey!Newborn thread member

jedi (Laura) it was me that thought I may have thrush. Haven't been back to the dr to find out as hopefully have my 6 week check this week so will ask then. I've been taking acidophilus (3000 cultures) after someone on the facebook group recommended I take it due to the antibiotics I was on for the mastitis. Jonathan is still not showing any signs of thrush, but I do still have cracked and itchy nipples and stabbing pains. I think some of it is due to the latching problems I've had though. I fed Jonathan today from both sides using my new theraline nursing pillow, which is really good. He fed twice from my left side (the one that had the mastitis and was the sore one but his preferred side) and once from the right side and he fed for around 30 minutes total. I definitely think his latch has improved as it didn't hurt on the right side until he got lazy half-way through and pulled off slightly and the left side only hurt initially.
I've not fed him again this afternoon from me as we've had guests around and then I had to make the dinner, so I expressed again as we also had no bottles left in the fridge for the night feeds. Will express again in a minute. Have you had any other symptoms Laura? I believe you can buy treatments for ductile thrush over the counter at the pharmacy, so you could ask there if you didn't want to go to the dr. Obviously it won't be free like it would if you've a prescription though.
I get stabbing pains a bit of itching and my nipples are red. Have got some daktarin which someone recommended to me but GPS don't usually reco it. Niall has no signs in his mouth, today I noticed he had redness on his bum but not sure if thrush. Saw nurse practitioner Friday who was useless.
I am on probiotics as well, definitely needed as I had
antibiotics during labour and for mastitis. Niall is also on a baby probiotic.
Just hope it clears up soon.
Niall is lazy as well and tends to slip off, it's getting harder to control his latching now he is 3months

Katie glad the docs think George is ok. As for packing, god nowhere near where it needs to be, but run out of boxes!!!
I've sold some of reu's old clothes on the fb page so will be busy packing them tonight, then going to put the rest on eBay.
I've got endless boxes of stuff to eBay - but just don't seem to find the time to do itI need to just blitz the lot really, got loads of BNWT ladies clothes size 12 (so wasteful of me!) and really I just need to pull my finger out and do it.
Re the bread, if the seeds are whole, couldnt you just pick them out if you are concerned?0 -
Hi all
Fireworks are keeping my baby awake tonight....twice already
Katie, not sure about granary bread. I have given Aiden wholemeal but don't think he has had granary. I would have thought he would be ok though as they have a gagging reflex, but you could pick them out as Turtle says. Also, I give Aiden buttered toast - as long as its unsalted.
Haven't ordered a sleeved sleeping bag yet, going to TK Maxx tomorow and they sometimes have sleeping bags, if not I will order one.
Hope babies are all okay and fireworks not bothering themx

Morning ladies. Freezing here today!
Looks like G is well and truly teething, never seen so much dribble! Was moaning half the night again. Hope it gets through quickly. Going to boots this morning so I'll get something to ease it for him.
Hope Jannine is ok, she's not been on for a while. Guess she's gearing up to go back to work now.
Did the fireworks finish in decent time sunshine? Some were going off just over the back fence from us but they finished by about 8.30 so could have been worse.Newborn thread member

Morning
Fireworks stopped about 11 but Aiden was unsettled all night really and I dont know why. He wanted holding, but with me stood up?!! Not nice when you are half asleep! Even had him in with us for an hour just to try and get some sleep but he was just the same.
Hope George cuts a tooth soon. Apparently teething powders are good, not tried them here though. Nurofen usually works.

Teething Powders are good, we use Weleda Teething Granules, as far as I'm aware only health shops and online have them though. Nelsons Teetha are good, Ashton and Parsons are supposed to great for the tummy when teething, cuts down the acid and bad nappies.
Other than that anbesol and nurofen, (it seems to help the inflamed gums better than calpol)
I gave supper yesterday for the first time, but I had to give him a bottle at 5 this morning, after being awake over an hour, so not sure if that's made him hungrier or what? He never really wakes up for a bottle in the night, but maybe it's just a co-incidence. He is so hungry these days, downing his 3 bottles again, after cutting down to 2 and eating 3 good sized portions a day (4 yesterday!) 2 snacks and pudding after lunch and dinner. No idea at all.
Aaron is watching Mickey Mouse while I pack some of the case, but it's almost time for his breakfast so best get on with it.
Have a good day everyone xxThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
