LAst night was the firest night Reuben went all night without a feed. I think i should be happy but instead I was worrying it was too long, lol! He last had a feed at half 8, went down at 9, woke around 3 but only because he'd lost his comforter, gave it him back and he went straight back off and woke at 6:15 when OH alarm went off for work and fed then. So 10 hours with no feed -

In other news I have a stye in my eye and its sooo painful! How can something so small cause so much pain! Feel like ive been punched in the eye :(

Took Reuben in to work yesterday and everyone fussed over him, was lovely :)

    Morning everyone,

Gilly thanks for sharing your experience with reflux. That sounds absolutely awful, the poor thing :( I'm glad its sorted for you now. I'm now just hoping the GP has some knowledge of reflux so he can tell me one way or the other.

I've started a diary this morning on your advice, beginning from last night. She had her worst night so far, and hasn't stopped grunting and groaning since her 9.30pm feed last night.

I've tried the HV again this morning with no luck, so no official advice yet.

Carrie, sorry to hear Lara is struggling too. We use the tommee tippee bottles as well, so I'll ask if that could have any affect on things.

ikkle The sleeping bags are so good, I'm jealous of everyone using them! I'm still waiting for bubba to reach 7lb so that I can get hers out.

turtlemoose - that's brilliant, well done Reuben :) Although I can imagine it must have felt really weird not having him wake up.

Well done Reuben! Hope it continues!

How long does this 'found his voice' phase last? It's soooo loud! Must be driving the neighbours potty.

He's just had kiwi and avocado for his dinner - don't think he could decide whether he liked it or not, he'd open his mouth for it but then stick his tongue out when he tasted it! Got most of the bowl down though so can't have been too bad.

Have fun at meadow hall ikkle, I used to go every Xmas with mum for the day, love it!

  • Had some duff advice again today from nurse practitioner at my gp practie, I couldn't be bothered to tell her she was wrong. I breastfeed Niall and he hasn't pooed for 4 days although I have read on the net they can go 10'days without a poo. Mentioned to the nurse and she said how breastmilk is food and I should supplement Niall with boiled cooled water anew times a day. I thought health professionals should know breastmilk starts watery like a drink grrrr she also didn't think I had ductile thrush but didn't even examine my breasts. I was pretty mad after the consultation, waste of my time.

You can understand how women give up breastfeeding as you don't get proper support.

Anyway I have painful breasts still and I do believe it is thrush, I know it's not mastitis. Anyone have experience of ductile thrush? What treatment did you receive and how long did it take to get better?

    Lovely Halloween pics ladies :)

Jedi meh, great advice eh ;)

Reuben's record is 8 days and then wooo he went!!

If you're worried, you can do gentle massage to help them go, and bicycle their legs (like for wind).

After much messing about, we finally have a house sorted, we get the keys a week on Saturday. So now it's pack pack pack!!! I despise moving, but really looking forward to being out of here - there's so much work that needs doing here, it's become so unpleasant to live in. Really looking forward to a nicely maintained spacious house, with a garden, and a toilet both upstairs and downstairs, woohoo :j:j

Jedi - hope you manage to get some helpful advice soon, there are some people out there who are fantastic when it comes to knowing about breastfeeding and some people who really shouldn't pass comment.

Turtle - yay for Reuben and yay for a new house :)

KatyLiz - how far off 7lb is she now? We've got 2 sleeping bags will defo get more though he seems much more settled when in them.

Meadow Hall was fun, it was my first time going there and it was hugeee!! Had a few moments where we had to stop and sit down as it was a bit much for me but then I am only 18 days post section and I do still have this big heavy mass on my tummy so it might just have been a bit too early but I got some lovely stuff for my OH and Jakey :) even managed a christmas present for my grandad :)

Hope everyone else has had a good day :) x

Sammie don't be jealous, as per a previous conversation of ours, it'd just be more pee for you to clean off the seat :rotfl: 2 boys and OH here so I'll be doing that too I suppose, *sigh* lol
