Sorry to hear your mum is unwell Katie, a package in the post will bring a smile to her face I am sure.
Turtle....have watched series one of homeland will get round to the second when Niall is sleeping better
An even worse night last night, I think I got about 2 hours sleep. I can get him to sleep ok, lay him down, spark out then he will wake 10 mins later crying,I am assuming with wind as he is pulling his legs and went back to sleep when I held his legs to his tummy but a few minutes after I take my hand away he is crying again. He is nearly 3 months and I was hoping it would be getting better not worse:(
I am sure the wind has got worse because of the extra expressed bottles I am having to give due to poor weight gain. I can't stop giving bottles as he will have poor weight gain again:o I have reduced to giving one bottle of 100 ml the. Give 50ml by syringe....what a nightmare. Going along to a baby breastfeeding cafe this week so will ask for advice as I can't continue to have such bad sleep, I will go mad.
Had the cavity wall guys knock on my door at 7.30 this morning, luckily dh had given me the heads up as he was going to work so I was dressed.
Need to go out to get my dad a birthday present today, think I am going to get hima jumper from next, he is so hard to buy for.
As someone who has never had tones of milk was crazy yesterday when I was feeding and expressing and lots of milk poured out, breast pump couldn't cope and milk went into the tubing!

Fellow Homeland fans, series two is sooooooo good!!! Has me on the edge of my seat the whole time, well worth watching. I also love the walking dead, continuum (although the female lead character annoys me!) and me and OH have just started watching perception too. Thes been naff telly for months then all of a sudden lots of good series - thank god for sky plus though, or I'd never manage to watch any of them :rotfl:0

Jedi I hope bf cafe helps - you're doing really well. Forgetting the weight gain, how is Niall? Do you have plenty of wet/dirty nappies? Is he meeting his milestones? There's soo much more to a healthy baby than putting on the chub!!0

Thanks turtle ill give that a go!
Laura I second turtle - the hvs get ridiculously hung up on their percentiles and following the line on the graph stuff, but really each baby is different and not one of them is a robot that will follow their precious line exactly.
Starting today George is having 3 meals day, just tried him with spinach and mashed potato (second try as on Friday he went potty and wouldn't eat any of it). I think I got maybe one spoonful down him this time but to say he wasn't happy about it is an understatement. Mango for tea though, that's a favourite.
I love the walking dead too, Andrew Lincoln is brilliant in it.Newborn thread member

Meant to add I just found this website - been feeling a bit stuck in a rut with things to do with the wee man, there's a few ideas on here I'll definitely be trying. Might help others if anyone's feeling the same

Amazingly, my little man is following the line for the 50th centile exactly. However, he doesn't seem to be meeting any milestones so far. He's 8 weeks tomorrow and he still doesn't smile socially, stare at my face or follow an object with his eyes. I expected him to have done all of these by now. I'm not quite sure whether I should be worried or not?
He also sleeps for a huge portion of the day. To be honest (and I know this might sound terrible), I'm really struggling as I don't feel like I get anything back from him at all. He doesn't even seem to like being cuddled particularly, which upsets me. Having a new baby is nothing like I imagined it to be. People keep telling me that things will improve and he will start to become more interactive over the next few weeks but I can't help worrying and wishing he would hurry up. Then I feel bad because I'm basically wishing these early weeks away! Has anyone else felt like this or is it just me?
We're booked on a taster session for Baby Sensory later this week but I think it might be a waste of time as he doesn't take any notice of anything0 -
Elelyn - I felt exactly the same, I remember taking him to a baby play group at 7.5 weeks and was surrounded by all these smiling, sitting up babies and George just lay there showing no interest in anything. I can't honestly remember when he did his first proper smile (bad mummy!) but I think it was probably going on for 9-10 weeks. The first 3 months are really really hard but it does get better. I know everyone says it but its true.
I know its easy for me to say try not to get get too hung up on the milestones and when he 'should' be doing things. Every baby is different.Newborn thread member

Afternoon all,
I'm half-way through a pack of Asda Little Angels Size 2 nappies, and thinking towards which brand to try next and was wondering what your experiences were? We had Pamper size 2 before these as they were on offer, but want to save a few pennies by buying a supermarket or own brand nappy as he's going through them a lot - we've had trouble with leaky poos from both the pampers and the Asda ones now. I've heard that Aldi ones are meant to be good, but the supermarket is rather out of my way, although I suppose it's as far as Asda was and I can buy some things at Asda whilst I'm in that direction. I've heard varying reviews on Lidl own ones (they are much closer for me) so not sure whether they are worth a try or not. I've heard some nappies are better for boys than others too. Jonathan has a long body but his legs aren't very chubby, which is why I think they were leaking.
Tesco superfit have been great for us. After using Little Angels for a while we've just gone back to them, so we can get our points from Tesco, and still love them!!
Aldi were great we found. Pampers great. Huggies suck!!
