Laura - lovely pics.
he's a cutie.
Turtlemoose - I can totally understand you not wanting Reuben growing up thinking that it is acceptable behaviour to speak to others like that. My OH gets his temper from his father, his dad used to smash up kitchen cupboards and scream and shout at mil in front of their kids
!!!!es me off as OH has a lot of time for his dad but his dad is so money orientated he would sell his own kids given the chance!!
I have told OH that our kids will not grow up with his fathers attitude on life (woman's job is looking after the man!!)

Hugs turtle, it does sound like abuse, hope you can talk some sense into him soon.
Took George out for a spin in the new pushchair - I love it! So light and quiet after the old one! And after days of OH going On about how I'd wasted £90, we already had a perfectly good one etc etc he went pretty quiet once he had a push
We're off to a carboot tomorrow, and this time if I see anything I'm going to get it, left a few things last time and regretted it.
Hope everyone's had lovely daysNewborn thread member

Right, I have been humming and hahhing but I think R is definitely struggling with his teeth/gums. LOTS of dribble, irritable when he wouldnt usually be, and anything that goes in his mouth gets gummed to death, but not sucked. And several times today he has cried and I've out something cold in his mouth and he's immediately calmed down.
Questions.....at 3 months he's not coordinated enough to consistently hold something in his own mouth - and size too is a factor - he can just about manage Sophie's knee but he struggles a little (but he loves her!). So spill the beans - what made your LO feel better to gum on (age appropriate obv) and what product are boots going to relieve me of some cash for tmorrow??
I thought about freezing some milk (mine I mean) so he can suck on that BUT worried about the logistics, how does he hold it, what if a bit comes off and he chokes on a chunk etc....anyone else done similar with one so little?
Final question....he is chewing his fingers like crazy, but in his haste sometimes sticks his fingers too far and gags. Anybody else had experience of this? Any tips on getting him to stop, or is it just one of those things he's got to figure out himself?
Katie glad you love the pushchair, and that OH did tooand have fun carbooting, I love it, such bargains to be had!!

I'd start off slow turtle, bonjela, anbesol gel, calgel or something to see if it takes the edge off, we had teething and gnawing ferociously from 8 weeks and no hint of a tooth until around 6 months. Teething granules are great too Boots sell them "Nelsons Teetha"
If you find that still isn't helping you may want to move on to anbesol liquid, calpol, calbrufen.
Sorry I can't even read back tonight, exhausted ladies, heading to bed now. Got my new glasses on order, so will pick them up in 7-10 daysxx

Noah sticks his fingers down his throat and gags too, I just pull his fingers out (if he hasn't already) and just wait for him to do it again!! My other boys learnt pretty quick not to do it so I wouldn't worry too much.
We have Sophie here too but I also have calgel ready in the cupboard and ive bought some teething keys that you can put in the freezer and baby can gum them which, again I found helped with my boys.

Turtle...once again thanks for the tip about pumping whilst feeding..it might be do-able that because I feed her in the rugby hold anyway... I still haven't got round to sterilising all the kit yet so will try do that tomorrow.
Hope you manage to get something to sort Reuben's gums out bless him.
Laura ..love the piccies..what a cutie!0 -
Turtle, dentinox teething gel works really well for Aiden. He has a teething ring too which we pop in the fridge for a bit too. Im not sure what you can do re him holding things, I used to hold things for him and let him gnaw but obvs cant do it all the time! He still does the finger gagging now...I dont know when he will learn not to do it lol!
Made Aiden some mini cottage pies for freezer, minus the milk, butter etc in the potato. Going to try him with meat in the next week or so. This morn he actually put a bit of bread to his mouth, hurrah!
Was sat in lounge earlier and some random ginger cat just strolled in through the patio door!!!! XLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

I hadn't either but today I was eating a sandwich and gave him a crust as he was staring at me lol. I have given him cucumber sticks before for gums but have always had to hold it.
Might try some toast too. Does anyone know when they can have cream cheese?xxLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea
