  • Im with Gilly on self settling - George has only just got the hang of settling himself in the daytime, never had much of a problem at night (famous last words!) during the day I tend to feed him so he's a bit dozy then put him in the cot, quite often he'll lie there grinning at me but I give him his comforter and put the mobile on and leave him to it, it takes a while - 30-40 minutes but he generally goes off with just a few gurgles. If he cries I give him his dummy. But when he settles himself he seems to nap for longer, an hour rather than half an hour.

We had a good night, 9ish til 4.30 then til gone 8. Just what I needed after a run of bad ones!

Yeah we have a routine, tea, play, bath, bottle and falls asleep. He doesnt cry in the cot its the opposite lol he plays! And with him, the later he goes to sleep the earlier he is up. xxx

Id start bedtime earlier then or prepare for a few bad days to start with.Itdoes work I promise you. Xx

We do a routine here too. Dinner, play, bath, settling down time with a bottle and story and then bed. Most of the time in put Noah in his cot whilst he is still awake, I may have to pop upstairs to give him his dummy a couple of times but he does settle himself and he loves his bed which helps!! :D

  • Good and bad weekend here... the good bit was that I bought a bike, secondhand, just what I need. I have a quite expensive bike that I bought a couple of years ago, and no child seat will fit to it! There were no decent bikes for sale round here so we had a 2 hour drive to buy one from near to my Nan's house, and took her out for sunday roast.

The bad bit of the weekend was Nan was really unwell, my aunt said she's been like that for 3 days. Very unsteady, fell twice before we arrived on Sunday, and very sleep and not very responsive when awake. Normally she's quite chatty but she was very much only answering when spoken to. They are going to get someone to look at her this afternoon so I'm hoping it will just be her diabetes medication being a bit out, orsomething equally simple.

Other bad thing is we need new guttering, which is going to cost £660. It could have been worse (DH was expecting us to pay closer to £1000 for it), but we don't really have that to spare with the childminding costs about to start...

    Hi Ladies,

I need some pram advice please and recommendations!

I want to buy a new pram and have been looking at a Quinny, an Icandy or an Oyster. I want a pushchair that is rear and forward facing and my current pram isn't. Poppy is still in the carrycot but I don't think it will be long until she is ready for the pushchair.

    Any recommendations?

    Hello :)

I love all those prams but we have an Oyster and I love love love it! We just bought a colour pack so he will be in the pushchair bit soon
Its really smooth to push and fits in my small boot. And its front or rear facing. Its good for my oh as the handle goes higher or lower and he is quite tall.

I really like icandy and quinnys too though!! X

Tell me about it!! Think I will be going to test them all this weekend and make my decision!

What colour pack did you go for on the Oyster? I really like the grape!
