Ha ha! In fairness it's only my fingernails and I've smudged one already but omg I can't believe they've got paint on them. I might go wild and aim to do my toenails tomorrow night.

I intended to put LO in his own room at 4 1/2 months but I'd been doing his day time naps in there for a few weeks and decided just to go for it. We had a few tricky days to begin with but I couldn't go backwards and confuse LO so worked through it and I have to say that I am glad I did. His room is right next door to ours. To begin with I had his and our door open as well as having the monitor right next to me. Now the doors are both pushed closed but not quite closed and I have the monitor on medium volume. I'm sure LO gets more sleep as well as us as I think I used to go to him for every tiny noise and movement.

That said guidelines are for 6 months.

Hi, my LO is now just over five weeks and its scary how quickly time is going!
Wonderwomble - I have been using a snuggle nest (there are a couple on ebay so you can see what I mean) at night in bed and this along with a growbag really seems to settle and ensure that LO sleeps deeper, with less noise and (not always) but longer between feeds.

I am breastfeeding and topping up with a bit of formula and just seem to want to eat all the time. While pregnant I didnt really eat much and didnt put loads of weight on. I am afraid that I am going to start really piling the weight on, any tips to prevent me wanting to eat so much or is a lock on the fridge the only way to go?!

Loving the thread btw and all the helpful advice.

We only put lo in her own room two weeks ago and she is 8 months ! OH was more against moving her than me but he is a deep sleeper so never got woken really . That said she has been sleeping a bit better since being in there so has helped .

I bf and have been eating like a horse and still slowly losing weight ! It's great .

I got a pack of 5 for about £6 last month in mother care. They are plain bright colours and Velcro at the back of the neck. Have some old tommee tippee ones i got in tesco but they are a pain in the proverbial as you have to tie them on.

I put DD into her room at 9 months. Wish I'd done it sooner! Will probably wait to 6 months with DS but as long as you have a baby monitor wouldn't hesitate to do it sooner. We just don't have room at the moment to move him.

Way to go Doglover. I got as far as thinking about putting nail polish on my toes. Might make an effort and do it before swimming on Friday :rotfl:

Hello everyone. Finally able to migrate to this thread as back from hospital this afternoon with my little girl who made us wait until 12 days overdue to meet her on 14 Jan (that's only yesterday I realise, totally lost track of time/date/planet!)

At the moment still dazed and confused, very tired, and can't quite believe we have her here. I'll probably make more sense and be contributing/picking your brains over the coming days as everything right now is so new.

I think she's dropping off now in her moses basket, so time for me to get settled too.

Sorry Doglover did not mean to worry you about weaning :( For the majority of babies with reflux this is apparently the time when it all starts improving....unfortunately my little guy has always believed that rules are not for him and apply to the rest of the world only :rotfl: Your little guy will most probably start improving no end too like all of the other babies out there. :D

My boy had gaviscon, ranitidine, and then finally lansoprazole, but nothing worked for him, and unfortunately his sister is exactly the same....actually worse as she is totally unable to tolerate any solid foods whatsoever. But watching my now 3 year old son wolfing down a sunday roast today I am feeling totally fine about it as he is my proof that it will all turn out fine in the end. :)
