Her next fave is to tell me how my oh had his pudding first then his meal and maybe aiden would like that. Erm no, he has it the normal way that we give him!

Hi everyone,
I was a member of the pregnancy thread and now have been reading this one when I get the chance - it's funny how I would check the pregnancy one every fifteen minutes before DD came along! Imagine having the time to do that now!!
I wanted to ask you all a question about weaning.
My DD was born on 14th May, so she's about 15 weeks old. I've not had a child before but I think, going by the various guidelines, that she might be advanced for her age. She was biggish but not huge when born - 7lbs15.5oz - but she has outgrown her moses basket and is now in a cot in her own room right next to ours - has been for about 2 weeks.
I breast fed exclusively for only about a week or two, and then started to introduce 1 bottle of aptamil so I could get a rest as she would have stayed connected to me 24hours if possible! She is now exclusively bottle fed the hungry baby Aptamil - we give her 210mls each feed and some days need to give an extra bottle more than the recommended amount in 24 hours.
She can sit in her Bumbo for 3-5 minutes while I make the bottle, but any longer and she starts to slump and look uncomfortable, but when carrying her around or sitting her on my knee she has great head and neck control.
So you see we are not sticking rigidly to guidelines in terms of dates, amounts of feed, and keeping her in our room. Of course I would never put her in danger, but I feel like these things are fine and are what she needs at the moment.
She is generally a very happy baby, plenty of smiles, gurgly chatter and has a favourite toy that she talks to! For the past 6 weeks she has been sleeping through the night, generally from about 9pm until about 8am.
Now, for the past week or two I have noticed her putting things in her mouth. Normally its her own fist, but she can also pull the blanket or overhanging toys etc into her mouth. Last night she was chewing on my thumb. Loads of slabber as well! Ive noticed her watching me when I'm eating tea and toast on the sofa. For the past week she has been waking in the night at about 3am but goes back to sleep after getting a dummie.
Do you think she could be teething, or need a little baby rice now, or both? Or none of these things? I know she is only 15 weeks, but does seem advanced for her age.
Love to hear what you think0 -

I know how you all feel regarding mil's as I had to put up with a lot of !!!! over the past 10 years!! She got so bad that dp told her he didn't want her to be part of his life anymore about 7 months ago ( I was 7 months pregnant at the time) they have not spoken since but I do take the kids round to see her still but obviously she can't see them as much as she would like as she can't come round to our house anymore. it is a shame but I think he has put up with alot from her in his life and she really can be interfering and thinks she is right about everything!!
I just tolerate her now.

At 15 weeks Id say its 4 month sleep regression, loads of info on google about it. 15 weeks is too early for food, recommended guidelines is around 26 weeks or 17 at the very earliest. Food before then can cause stomach upsets/allergies. if under medical supervision some babies with reflux or.those that are preemies etc may be advised by their pediatrician to wean earlier. Our pedi told us he wouldnt advise any earlier than 17 weeka. xxxThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

The cruise sounds good sunshine xx
Disney cost us a fair bit, approx £8,000, that included park tickets, accomadation, we rented a villa with a pool from James villa's, car hire and flights,5 of us went, with meals and mementoes we prob spent another £2,000.
Worth it but hectic, we had booked it before I fell pregnant and decided not to cancel and just go for it.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

gtothec - believe me I'm going nuts in weaning limbo - got a girl taking 9oz bottles of hungry baby milk and fully draining them and chucking a strop at it being empty... and she's still got a month and a bit before 6 months!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Gtothec, I had a hand chewing very hungry baby... Several months later, he still chews his hands, but no teeth, he still wants feeding all the time, but isn't at all keen on proper food. It isn't necessarily a sign of anything.0
