Theres a couple of lists going round I think, its prob just that you are on one which hasnt been picked up.

Twins are on both sides of our family but we just had the one! Twin girls sound so cute though :) although I admire you for looking after 2!!

  • Was reading the Tracey Hogg baby whisperer book and feel like I know even less about babies than I thought lol

Am trying to do her easy routine thingy, eat, activity, sleep and y for you time. I know it's very early as Niall is only 2weeks old today. Am not keeping to any timing as am bf on demand but am trying to follow the above structure, pretty difficult with a baby that always falls asleep on the boob. Wondered what other people have been doing as a routine? Anyone doing it the Tracey Hogg way?

I am scared to fall into the trap of my sister who has 5 & 2 year old who just won't sleep, they often drive the younger one around in the car to get him to sleep.

Niallhas been resisting sleep for the past 2 hours even though he has been yawning away, as soon as we get him to sleep put him down in his Moses basket he wakes again!

I didn't do any routine at all with my boy, since we got his reflux/intolerances sorted he's been an alright sleeper. Still would wake up in the night, but from about 6months, he slept through.

Out of all the routines I'd say Baby Whisperer is best, but I wouldn't follow anything 100% and wouldn't put pressure on yourself thinking "oh I should be doing this" Follow Nialls ques, he will guide you. By 12 or 13 weeks I'd look into a routine, but at 2 weeks, I'd go with it.

She's finally POSSIBLY nodded off - after fighting it for 2 hours, screeching, rubbing at her face like crazy and being so awful I wanted to go out of the room for a good scream myself at times. Dreading the end of the weekend and hubby back at work with this current demon child I've got.

    Hey Laura

I didnt have any routine set really either we just went with what Aiden did really and in time he set his own routine. We found by about 8-10 weeks he was awake for a certain amount of time and then napped. He has stuck with this and now does about 2.5-3 hours awake in the day before he needs to nap.

Aiden didnt really like the basket either, we found that putting a thick soft blanket folded up inside for him to lie in helped a lot. I think the basket mattress was a bit thin for him.

Yea he did. We took him on holiday but he was a bit too tiny then.

I was surprised he didnt put it in his mouth! It was everywhere though, whenwe bathed him we were shocked at the places it got to!! Xx

Thank you! Both kicking off for ages. I've been reading this baby week-by-week book and apparently this is common?! It's the 2nd night on the trot and driving me crazy. And I believe smiling is common in week 6 but dont see that soon with my grumpy pair.

Twins are hard work. People feel like they can stare at us when we're out, I can't get my jumbo buggy round most shops (next and monsoon have received emails of complaint!) and when 2 women commented about 5 mins after the other about how 'it must be nice to have one of each', I lost my cool and asked the latter which one looked like a boy, my baby with the pink dress or my other baby with the pink dress. Stupid moo said Georgie had a boys face and said she'd hoped she hadn't offended me...

Saying that - having twins is brilliant. I look in awe at them wondering how me & OH made these wonderful ladies :D:D:D

About routine, I'd go with baby in those early weeks. Take what you want from the books and ditch the rest. My sister followed the EASY in baby whisperer and I know it was pretty good for her. I had to get into a routine early on with twins - we AIM for 3 hourly feeds during the day, dropping to 4 hourly at night (or seeing how long we can push it now til a hungry baby wakes us)

Congrats on your little one :D

Hello yoemma :) what are your girls called? I will pop you on the list.

Having lasagne for tea and going to watch xfactor :j how sad that I am so excited for that!?

Aiden finished all his tea tonight. Only the second time he has, so v.pleased.

    Hope everyone has nice evenings.

Here is Aiden in the sand at town park. Just so you know - I don't take my baby out with no trousers/shorts on - we took them off so he could feel the sand and so they didn't get covered :)
