Gilly loads of the reviews I read on the 30 day shred said they lost inches rather than weight so I bet you are doing that. xLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Nope
clothes just feel the same. Not amused
To top it off, OH is working back shift again, so we all had our dinner at 2pm. Long day now with no other big meals.
I don't even have the motivation to shred today nowThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
thanks for the all welcomes, recognise quite a few names from the pregnancy thread:)
went for a little walk today - first time out with the pram and DH. as i have had a c-section and no driving for a while feel i need to get walking again to get out but taking it easy as dont want to do any damage.
anyone else have breastfeeding/chaning nappy anxiety out and about? i worry about these things. i breastfeed with the help of a nipple shield which is a little more cumbersome then straight on the boob but its the only way Niall will feed at the moment. also thinking about going out and about with no changing facilities near by scares me...silly i know
niall slept for 4 hours without a feed last night, he is a very good boy. i did wake him for a feed at this point as he did have problems feeding early on and the paed doc said not to let him go past 4/5 hours at the moment.
makes me laugh that when there is a farting sound i have to ask DH whether it was him or Niall hehe
thank god really hot weather has gone.

Ha afraid not Turtle, he slept for about 40 minutes (so broke his 30 minute habit for once!) then was awake. I did try putting it back in but he wasnt having any of it, but we had to go out so I didn't try too much. I tried when we got back, not to try and get him to nap, just out of interest and he pulled a face and spat it out so it might have been a one off. He's rubbing his eyes now though so will try again I think.
Laura I was really nervous about my first bf out of the house but when it comes to it if he's hungry I'd rather the world saw my boob than he was upset! I've never had any trouble from anyone about it. With nappy changes I'm lucky as where I live there are two sets of decent public loos with big changing spaces but if I'm anywhere else I either make a note of the big department stores like m&s as they usually have changing areas, although I have done it on the grass in the park before! I've got a little fold up travel changing mat to sit him on so its ok. We did it on a bench in Regents Park in London the other week - huge exploding nappy, screaming baby...and I got the giggles as it was just so ridiculous! When we eventually got him sorted out he then threw up on OH so he had to change as well!Newborn thread member

I don't get breastfeeding anxiety (obviously - that battle was lost a long time ago when I burnt out the motor on my breastpump in under a fortnight!) but I DO try to avoid situations where I'll have to feed her in public... because of the snarky judgemental brigade - had a lovely encounter with one today, but was one of the annoying faceache, tut-tutty bunch instead of one that I could use one of my bank of comebacks at. Nappy changing I've not found that much of a bother - but she's very predictable when a poo's due and wees I can always just whip nappy off and new one on with minimal effort! I make a beeline for Asda baby changing rooms though - they sometimes have freebies of their Little Angels nappies in there (dead good nappies anyway) so it's handy to mix business with trying out to see if she's ready for the size up so to speak! My finest nappy change was an utter poo explosion (typically when we had her dressed up for a really BIG do - grandaddy being made mayor and grandma determined to play pass the baby around the entire council) balanced between the sinks in the ladies loos in the civic centre members' quarters... one of the times I was sooo glad she was a dinky preemie as she fitted on a changing mat there perfectly!
Had a bit of a hectic one - got a nice tax rebate (I like the tax man - he's forever sending me money - as a consequence of how my earnings are organised they can never get the balance of my tax allowance right across multiple employers so I'm pretty much always overpaying) so went and bought all of the spoons and storage pots for weaning and things while we're still solvent (since she's almost 5 months now it won't be long and I may as well start pureeing and freezing things like odd carrots that would normally go to waste), then went and bought toys to put away for Christmas, and pyjamas, vests, tights and leggings and stuff to do from now up until 1 year (am sick of putting her in next size up babygros for her feet to be blasting right down to being squished in them in a week). So apart from little bits - she's got a few decently big parcels to open for Christmas - a lamaze stacky spinny rings thing, a stacky totem pole thing, some bath squirty silly toys (to attack daddy with) and rubber ducks, a rainmaker (seriously one of her favourite things at baby group at the moment) and I'll just buy things like some nice PJs for Xmas Eve and little tiny dafty bits nearer the time (also have one of our charity shops that does loads of kids' books in really good condition so I'll get some of them nearer the time and wrap them up - because let's face it - first Christmases aren't about what you get - but tearing the wrapping paper off stuff)... also bought a 3 toys in one thing by Nuby for now - should have been £12.60 but rang through the till for £9 - twizzly bugs thing, a floppy eared teethy tuggy thing and a chime hippo that can clip onto her buggy... and a toy box to put the mess in! Just need to keep trawling the charity shops for particularly 9-12 month clothes and a few 6-9 month ones.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Rebekah I saw Laura commenting on your FB status there. Please please please let me reassure you, you are not doing anything wrong. Some babies just like being cuddled, but if she really won't be put on her back, I'd take her to the GP, as it sounds like she may reflux. I would never advocate letting a 5 week old baby cry out BUT if you need lunch or the loo, put her down. You need to keep your strength up, especially if you're breast feeding. I have been where you are now and I held him constantly, not eating for a day at a time and I got very weak very quickly. Looking back I wish I'd just put him down and grabbed myself a sandwich quickly. We are all here for you hun, but I would definitely go and see the GP xxxxxxThe frontier is never somewhere else. And so you don't go insane in the interim - consider a stretchy wrap (like a Moby or Victoria the sling lady does cheaper ones) so you don't end up with arm ache from being unable to put her down!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Jedi re breastfeeding in public. Do you have a nursing top? If you don't, what I do is wear a vest under a normal top. Instead of having the vest arm bits over my shoulders, I open the clip on the front of my bra, hook the arm of the vest over, and shut the bra. This means when you are out, you can lift your top up, unclip one side, and it hides your belly and you only have the necessary boob out. Ive just read that back and not sure if ive been clear....if this doesn't make sense, let me know and i'll post a picture.
Anyway..however you do it...do it in front of a mirror at home. I was terrified of feeding in public until someone told me to do the mirror thing...when I realised that my baby covers everything and it just looks like I'm cuddling him. And I've got big boobs (relatively, each boob is bigger than my baby's head, for reference lol) and honestly it is nowhere near as revealing as you think it is!!
As for bum changing... I have one of these but I only paid £3 for mine so shop around (or try eBay). It's really handy and I don't have to cart around the suitcase style bag that I see other mums withhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Sunshine-Kids-Change-Travel-Changing/dp/B000EDJ19Y
