Hi everyone,
Just found this thread so hope no one minds if I jump in from time to time
My little man is nearly 14 weeks (doesnt time fly!) so would be nice to see how other new mums are doing as well!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Hi flower. I remember you from the pregnant thread. Hope you and baby are doing well?
Jenjade yes you probably could. Then if she is still hungry switch her onto the other.First Baby born January 2007

Jenjade -when Poppy was younger i used to feed on the same side again if she was hungry within 3 hours as she started getting green poo which apparently means they are getting too much of the first milk . I think it depends on whether she has drained the first side although i never know if she has!
Hi Flower!0 -
i would feed the same side jenjade if its oly half an hour, as she gets the thicker milk that way.
will make a doctors appt tomorrow thanks doglover.
baby isnt putting on as much weight as he should, was 7lb5 when he was born and was 9lb11 a week ago, but in between feeds hes a happy smiley boy, fingers crossed itll all be fine and its just a growth spurt x

You will get a better feel as to what to do as time goes on. I always fed on the side that was 'next' no matter how long it was between feeds. But it won't hurt to feed her off an 'empty' (they are never truly empty) breast as you should technically offer her the second breast everytime anyway.should i fed Ellie on the same side if it is not long between feeds? fed her half an hour ago and she wants more alreadyBaby Giz born 6/2/110 -
I read your other thread. I have no idea if this is reflux or just normal behaviour as seems to be the 2 most common responses. But hopefully just so you don't feel alone so of my experiences might help you feel better. In the early days (less than 3 months) DD used to be quite sick a lot. I used to go to the breastfeeding clinic and tell them she'd thrown up the whole breastfeed (she projectile vomited - it's quite impressive - I think I read somewhere that to only really worry if the vomit projects more than a meter away!) Anyway, they'd say no this is normal, it probably wasn't the whole breastfeed - and i'd be like "you didn't see it! It was loads, it was everywhere". Anyway, I can't say when but by 4 months I got to the point where I couldn't remember the last time she was significantly sickmissymoo81 wrote: »ok help please, Ive just been on the phone to my HV and she was not at all helpful! So if any of the more experienced people have advice I would be very grateful. Roo has started feeding for an hour at a time, coming off about 6 times in between to burp cry and come back on, occassionally he's sick then gets back on again, but he will feed continuously unless i stop him..... the HV said shes not sure why and to pull him off after 30mins or so.....now im not so sure i should do that, he will scream and scream...... I know i've mentioned this before but am really really struggling

I had more than my fair share of her puking right over my boob while she was feeding too
Yuk.
I was told by the breastfeeding specialists to never pull her off (unless the latch was wrong). But then she never fed for more than 30 minutes.
Have you tried different positions? Rugby hold? Even laying down? Laying down is nice, then you won't mind feeding for ages

Hi! We are doing well thank you. Had a bit of upset when I had to make the decision to stop breast feeding so I could go back on my anti-depressants. But loving being a mummy
just feeling very guilty about not BF-ing.

Hi Flower nice to see you over here!! Don't you dare feel guilty about not bf-ing!! You have to do what's right for you and the baby. A happy mummy is a happy baby. Take care xxThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Flower it's a hard decision to make. I stopped at 1 week with DD and at 5 weeks with Daniel.
I felt very guilty with DD but less so with Daniel. They both did great on the bottles so it was silly to worry. You do what you have to do and you had a very good reason to stop. At least you gave your LO a great start with the colostrum!!First Baby born January 2007
