Hi Flower! Good to see you over here! Don't feel guilty about the bf'ing - as others have said, you gave little Noah the best start and its far more important for him to have a happy mummy
Missy - how was Roo last night?
I got a copy of The Baby Whisperer out of the library yesterday, have read the chapter on EASY - has anyone tried it?
Day three of bath feed bed went very smoothly - I think he's got the hang of falling asleep on his own, its just time to try and get him to sleep for longer as he woke at midnight, 3 and 5.30 last night (which is better than the previous two nights in fairness!) if the Baby Whisperer is right, I think the midnight and probably the 3am wake up are habits rather than actual hunger because he only has a 10 minute snack before crashing out again. I haven't read the bit about breaking that habit yet, but I bet it will be hard work!!0 -
Hi Winnie in Pooh Although I haven't read it or tried it a mummy friend of mine says it's the best thing she ever did. The day I told her I got pregnant she started telling me about it!
Flower I stopped b-feeding after a week as well and spent ages worrying about it but that week had been so hard and so stressful as Sadie wouldn't latch on and we were having a constant battle, she then lost 15% of her birth weight and I knew then I was only continuing for me not for her, she needed more nutrition and I know now it was the right thing.
Hope everyone had a good nights sleep and all your bubbas are happy and smily today.Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Winnie I use the EASY routine, it worked well for both of mine. I find it a bit more difficult with DS as his naps get interrupted with the school runs and I have to try and settle him back down to sleep when we get home again.
Not having the same luck at night. He is similar to your LO in that he wakes several times a night. Baby whisperer uses pick up, put down to get them back to sleep but tbh, I haven't got the stamina for that at the moment. As Daniel is 4 months ive just changed him onto a 4 hour EASY routine and I'm hoping that plus the solids food will help settle him at night. I'm aiming for him sleeping through by 6 months.First Baby born January 2007
Second Baby born September 2011 :j0 -
I just sold my baby whisperer book lol, I think I am more of a baby led sort of person and we have made our own little routine. Worth trying though as might work well for you.
Flower - me and Poppy are good thanks! Glad you are Noah are getting on well. As others have said at least you gave Noah the best start and its more important that you are a happy mummy as that will make him happy.
Winnie in Pooh - it is quite unusual for babies to sttn before they are 6 months despite all the things you hear so i wouldn't worry too much about the night wakings yet.0 -

Yes please
Hello everyone else and thank you for the reasurrances about the BF-ing.
I might have to have a look for that book winnie in the library, Noah isnt too bad a sleeper although I do suspect I should try and him into an improved routine while he is young.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Hi Flower, Welcome! Dont feel bad about not breastfeeding it is better that you get the meds that you need so you can be a happy healthy mummy and enjoy your little one.
Ellie slept much better last night so i managed to sleep from 10pm until 5.30 am and feel much much better today.
other half stayed over last night and we are okay now although i am still really annoyed with him. He is going to have Ellie while i go to uni but i have told him i dont want her anywhere near his ex. So he has reluctantly told her he cant take her to work on Wednesdays as he is having Ellie while i go to uni and she has been making his life hell since! He is a bit stuck in the middle and no one is happy with him now and he is not coping with it at all.
I still dont think i am asking to much it is one day a week from now until the end of May thats all. He always said he will have her no problem he just though he would be able to take her to work as well. The other thing with taking her to work is that Ellie will be in her car seat for a hour and a half which is not recommended and it means when he takes her to work she will be over a hour away from where i am incase she needs me.
I have also told him outright that i am going to breastfeed for as long as possible as i believe it is what is best for me and Ellie and I dont feel he is being very supportive. He just grunted! lol
Been to tesco and boots todat to get nipple shields and they dont sell them!! the bigger stores are nearly an hour away from me so internet ordering i guess:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j
