Hey Ladies,
Good luck with the weight loss challenge, I'm very lucky to have always been very slim (not because I don't eat much, we just seem to have 'skinny genes' in our family!) I hope you all succeed, but I'm sure you look great anyway!
Went shopping today and got Poppy a winter jacket from TK Max, a pink duffle Elle jacket, paid £14.00 should have been £80.00 so chuffed to bits! Its a 3-6 months but quite big and should easily see Poppy through the winter!
Having work done at home and there is dust everywhere, its driving me nuts, but will look great when its finished.
Hope work is going OK Mozzyc, I think I'm going back part time in November, been trying to decide whether to go back or not! Think I will and if I don't enjoy it I can always jack it in. I did enjoy my job very much though and only work part time so will see!
Nutella - I don't change Poppy's nappy in the night unless she's done a poo, her nappy is on around 11 hours at night and touch wood she's never had nappy rash! (Possibly the only 'thing' she hasn't had!)
I watched midwives tonight, I enjoyed it knowing I don't have to do any of that every again and I already have my princess home and well!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Plum yogurts contain nothing but milk and fruit. And I shall be very disappointed when he starts eating the whole pot0

Morning ladies, Rebekah hope you got some sleep at some point?!
We were only up once but I'm still completely shattered. Early night tonight.
Thanks for the help re scaly head, I've got some of the dentinox shampoo to try later on.
I always change wet nappies in the night - he won't settle if it's wet, he's worse about a wet one than he is a dirty one. But luckily he generally settles really well in the night, even if he's wide awake after a couple of minutes fidgeting with the light off he'll drop off to sleep again.Newborn thread member

Morning all, hope you got some sleep
Thanks for your replies re. nappy changing - makes me feel better about only changing LO at 2/3am and not at 5/6am (her schedule, not mine!). She's usually up by 8am, so that's max. 6 hours with a wet nappy - not too bad I guess...
Turtlemoose, have you tried warm water and cotton wool? Might sound obvious, but my LO usually settles pretty quickly after a nappy change (as long as it's dark) - the one time I had to use wipes because our boiler had broken down & we had no hot water was a very different story!..
Rebekah, hope LO detached from boob and you got some sleep at some point!? Is she actually feeding or just comfort-sucking? My LO would latch on and then just lie there for hours just doing the odd bit of sucking - she never quite understood that it was meant to be a food supply.
Jannine, I'm very envious of your skinny genes! Although I suppose it would help if I didn't have a large bag of chocolate coated nuts for lunch...Well done on your TK Maxx bargain :T I really should go there more often - I can't stand the place, it's so chaotic and unfriendly, but I do like a bargain...
Plan for today is to continue trying to get LO to nap in her cot - I'm determined to get her to sleep in/on something that isn't moving or breathing. Managed two naps in cot yesterday - granted they weren't very long and she still had two naps on me, including a very long one, but progress nevertheless. She's very good in the night, but daytime is a different story...
Have a good day all x0 -
Rebekah, its not for everyone, but have you considered co sleeping? It's a totally personal choice and must be done properly to avoid any risks, but it was the only way I got some sleep early days, with Reuben laying on my chest and me slightly sitting up (and lovely bit of skin to skin time too) - but please ask your midwife or health visitor if it's something you will consider, they will be able to teach you how to do it safely0

Nutella, we now only change nappies at night if there's a poo. Otherwise it's on from about 9pm to 8am, and doesn't seem to cause him any problems. It's better for our sleep patterns I think!
Urgh I feel rough today. Day 5 of having a cold and I'm really fed up with it now. After Elliot had a feed at 1.30am I kept coughing and waking him as I was putting him in cot. It took 2 hours and 5 feeds to get him to settle.
Today is the anniversary of my Mum dying so that's probably not helpingMy Dad is going to visit her grave and see my Nan, but I have to keep away because of my cold. I can't believe it's been 7 years, they have gone so fast.
I think I have skinny genes too. In fact I'm more worried that I'm going too skinny now as I can't seem to eat enough to stop myself losing weight with the breastfeeding. I put my height and weight into the bbc site yesterday as there's a thing where you can find out which olympic athlete matches your size, and was quite shocked to get Paula Radcliffe as I'd always thought she looked tiny. Admittedly I'm nowhere near as toned as her, but I need to make an effort to eat more. On that basis I'm off to get a biscuit.0 -
Bluebell, sending you big ((hugs)) - so sorry to hear about your mum, and hope your cold goes away soon. Oh, and eat some biscuits for me will you?
* goes off to eat blueberries... *0 -
Aaron sleeps 12-14 hours in 1 nappy. Never used sudocream or anything else. He's 6 months old and never had one bit of nappy rash. He has sensitive skin too.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
