Mozzy, glad you had a good day yesterday!
Keelykat, nice to see there's another Elliot aroundI liked Lewis too but firstly it didn't go with our surname, and secondly I was banned from naming our baby after any formula 1 drivers
Our Elliot is still fast asleep. He could really do with a nappy change but I'm not going to disturb him. Aargh, no he's not, he just woke up. Bye!0 -
Morning ladies
How did Aiden sleep sunshine? Hope you both managed to get a couple of hours at least.
I'm taking G to get weighed this morning as its been ages since last time.
Has anyone had an issue with itchy flakey scalps on their littlies? George has had a scaley looking head for a while which I thought was cradle cap but now he keeps scratching it, there are huge flakes all over his head and his hair is quite long so it's really grim. I'm hoping the hv will have some advice when we go to the clinic later. Tried putting e45 on but because of his hair it doesn't really work.Newborn thread member

Morning all.
Hi Katiehe had a good few hours until he woke at 3. He did eventually settle but was stirring pretty much since then. Its just his nose which is really blocked so he struggles to breathe at night. Hopefully it clears today.
Aiden hasnt had a flaky scalp but it sounds like cradle cap. I have heard of rubbing baby oil on before bed and brushing with a soft baby brush in the morning. I know dentinox do a special shampoo too. Hope the HV can shed some light on it.
Cold and rainy here today!

I'm back! Nappy sorted, with no leaks, yay for a Huggies going 12 hours
Elliot looked hungry yesterday but didn't want boob, so I tried him on some baby rice instead, which he got through two helpings of. In some ways it's nice that he's starting to actually want food, but it feels odd too that he's rejecting meals from me. I'd been intending to bf until 6 months but that was it. Now he's just over 6 months and I am enjoying it too much to stop! He'll have to go to mixed feeding when I'm in work 5 days a week as expressing justdoesn't get enough milk, and takes too long, but hopefully I can still feed him in the evenings and overnight until he's a year or so.
Hubby and I spent most of the night coughing and sneezing thanks to our colds, but Elliot has escaped the cold, and seems able to sleep through just about anything, so we didn't wake him thank goodness. We did get a bit of sleep but still feeling pretty grotty today. Elliot slept until a 2am feed, then had 6am and 7am feeds before waking up half an hour or so ago, which was pretty good.
Katiechoc - try olive oil? Admittedly we hadn't tried it on hair, but it worked well for flaky skin on the rest of ElliotIt is a bit surreal basting your baby though.

Katie, if I have remembered rightly you are BFing? Sorry if I've got you mixed up, bad night here so bit zombiefied...anyway sounds weird but breastmilk is working on Reuben's cradle cap. My health visitor advised it, I was sceptical but it also cleared up his dry skin on his face, and the gunky eye that he had!
as an aside i also used it on the burns I had from the c section dressing (what a time to find out you're allergic!) and they healed up lovely0 -
Morning all
Hope you got some sleep - my LO stuck to her usual schedule of waking at 2am and 6am, so not too bad, although still hoping she'll skip the 2am milk demand at some stage!... It was her first night in the cot bed and she seemed happy there (as long as Ewan the dream sheep is wedged onto the side of her head she seems happy anywhere) but looked so tiny - she fits sideways!
Seren - well done on the weight loss! I started my diet yesterday and feel very motivated, so here's hoping I can keep it up.
Rebekah - hello, congratulations and welcome! Hope you got some sleep and that things improve for you soon. ((hugs))
Turtle - yay for sleeping and feeding and general positivity, long may it continue!
Mozzy - glad first day at work wasn't too bad.
Sunshine - hope Aiden is feeling better today.
Apologies to anyone I've missed - have a good day all x0 -

Hello all
Little man seems to have cheered up a little bit, touch wood. Sleeping now and doesn't sound as snotty.
Gilly - I love baked potato and beans! I'm jealous of him
Hello Mozzy, hope work is ok!
Officially booked our nursery space so I'm definately back at work November:(
Im going out on Friday with my friend for the first time since Aiden has been born, I really need to find something nice to wear. Most things make my belly noticable which is a bit wobbly still! So any suggestions gratefully recieved!!
