Quick question has anyone brought a used medela electric breast pump. There's a bargain on my local facebay says hardly used and I would buy all new accessories for it but I have read conflicting advice on the Internet? What do you ladies think? Thanks

Bezzy, I've used a medela and got on well with it, but not everyone fares well with a pump. The accessories for mine can be sterilised either in a steam steriliser or in good old fashioned Milton fluid, so no need to buy new. My tip would be check out their website and make sure you get the right size breast shield - the standard size one rubbed me raw and made me bleed :-/ but the next size down was fine (and much more effective).

Afternoon ladies :) loving the pics!

George and I have just got back from tesco, George was getting lots of attention from his adoring fans today (as in pretty much every old lady we bump into!) and for once they were all nice and spoke to me as well. Can't stand it when strangers push past me and start touching him without even saying hello first! Is that incredibly rude of me?!

Glad you've got your hair cut booked in sunshine, it's not sad at all!

I loved my medela swing pump, I used mine solid every 3 hours for 3 months when my Daughter was in the NICU and it literally saved my nipples! I did start with a hospital issue pump which wasn't medela and the pain after a week was horrendous so sent my OH to Boots to buy the Medela, was money well spent! Be warned though, it isn't silent or discreet as advertised. I use to pump in the NICU next to my Daughter and got some funny looks from the staff!! The Doctor said it sounded like a tardis! Gave us a good laugh though!

Even if you buy it and don't get on with it, you should be able to sell it on again as they seem to be in demand on ebay.

:rotfl:Surely jaffa cake = orange = one of your five a days = therefore good for you?!..... ;)

I love your logic Nutella! Going on that I had 2 lots of my 5 a day yesterday cos once those jaffa cakes were opened I had to finish the pack off! Would want them going soft now! :rotfl:

Feeling sorry for you ladies who aren't getting much sleep, I hate being sleep deprived, there really is nothing worse. Not sure what to suggest, I had a nightmare when Poppy first came out of hospital with sleep but one night she just started to sleep through, me and OH like our sleep so maybe she takes after us!

Been to baby clinic this morning, Poppy's not had a very good gain again this week, this really stresses me out, not sure what else I can do, I can't force feed her. I think she's always going to be a dainty little girl, but the Health Visitor going on about Poppy not being on the centile chart stresses me out every Friday!

I did the Asda shop this morning and had all the little old ladies flocking over, they ignore me too! I get sooooo fed up when the ask how old she is and I have to explain her age and her being so small due to her being so early. Think I should do a recording of it so I can play it instead of repeating myself daily!

Hi Katie - not rude at all! I hate it when people barge past us to! Think I've found a nice hair pic for the hairdressers :)

Sorry Poppy isn't gaining much Jannine, as you say she will probably just be a dainty little girl. I'm hoping he sleeps well tonight, don't mind one or two get ups but sometimes its about 5!!

Poppy started a few weeks ago! Its so loud and high pitched that it actually hurts me ears!! Even the dogs leave the room when she starts 'talking!'
