Its a bummer for me as I know I am capable of a lot more, but I don't really want to committ to some high fly carreer as I have seen women come to work at 730 and not get home til after 9pm. I'd rather earn a bit less and see my boy! Although its going to be a struggle with money, but maybe the perfect job will pop up!
Fingers crossed things may have improved at your place when you return.
Yes, its money to keep those babies fed and watered hey! Ugh, why do we have to go back!!
Actually, heres a little rant - it really annoys me that me and OH will only really just scrape through after paying nursery etc, and we get no help at all from the Government, I dont expect help at all, buuuttt there are people who we know of who neither of them work and they send the kids to nursery full time and most of its paid for by the Government, then they spend the whole day sat on thier bums at home!!!:mad:
I agree. We don't get anything either, but I don't think its fair that families who don't work are better off. Or that benefits should be more than an average job should pay, unless there's real reasons you can't work. It just seems unfair otherwise xDFD February 2012

Evening ladies, I've finished the worst of my work and already in bed woop! Although have a very wriggly baby which is unusual at this time, be typical if when I don't have to stay up working he keeps me up all night.
I never really understood the dream feed thing, I read that they can feed when they're asleep, is that it? Because George won't! He just lies there with it in his mouth but not sucking.
Hope everyone gets some decent sleep tonight, night x
sorry to jump in on the thread, I used the dream feed with my 2 boys and it worked so well for us,
the trick is to catch them just before they wake hungry, so if they usually feed at 10pm you feed them at quarter to. (the thinking behind this is they dont then wake out of habit when they no longer need this feed) If they arent 'waking' enough to feed the baby whisperer used to stroke their feet or palm of their hand so they start to come out of deep sleep and into a lighter sleep, which usually works to trigger them eating.
For us we eventually got into the pattern that we would give a feed at or just before bedtime for them and then again at bedtime for us, which would be the dreamfeed. This got them through until an early hours feed at say 3am ish so I was able to get a decent chunk of sleep in one go.

Definately. I do think it pays out too much, as there is no incentive for them to go back to work really.
I suppose its just the way society is atm. Does annoy me when these people we know of seem to have the best of the best, and they haven't worked a day between them for god knows how long!
Oooh theres an old one born on more4, I watched last week and it made me cry !!!

No problem, dont know your routine at the moment for feeds (or if you already know this) but this one is supposed to be in the darkened room, no eye contact or talking and as little interaction as you can manage - if you are bottle feeding this is a bit easier, we used to leave him in his cot whilst he drank from the bottle and would burp him by lifting him out and giving him a quick wind. They dont suck in too much air as there is no crying etc so there isnt usually too much winding needed.
hope it goes okBow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -

At the worst it will mean I am up most of the night - which isn't unusual at the mo really lol! Think might visit the docs in the morn about the wrist pain as its been hurting today, will report back

My dd who is 14 weeks takes 6oz on her dream feed, can't praise dream feeding enough!! We just have feeding issues during day as she is refusing her milk!!!!0 -

Thanks. He sleeps in his own room now and his monitor has a nightlight so I'll just leave it how it is, might leave him lying or if it doesnt work I'll sit in the chair with him. He is usually good at getting his wind up now.
I'll report back in the morningLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea
