Munchkin slept solid between 10 and 4.45 which is the longest one for weeks:j. She had a refuel then went down again at 5ish for another two hours then 7.15 for another two. I'd really like a night of unbroken sleep again sometime this year though!
I'm really not big on routines! She tells me when she's hungry and I feed her, and when she's sleepy I put her down for naps. Since we started her on some solids we try to do that twice a day, one early evening when DH is home, and I do one at some point lunchtime or early afternoon depending on when she is napping.
We do more specific at bedtime - try to take her up about the same time to a dimly lit room and we talk to her quietly, hubby changes her nappy and clothes and puts her into her sleeping bag and usually reads her a story, then I feed her and when she's full and nice and chilled give her a kiss and put her down in her cot and always say the same words (pick your own phrase which will be their cue for bedtime). When she wakes for a feed in the night I don't really talk to her, just feed and then put her back down with the same phrase - try and give the idea that it's not time for playing or anything fun, just sleeping!
Turtlemoose, I wouldn't think it's too early to start doing some of those things. I bf on demand as well and it can be very varied when she demands, but it does get longer between feeds as they get bigger and they do get the idea of nighttime and go for longer then as well!
Got a wedding to go to tomorrow, shame it's going to be horrible weather for it. I'm just not sure what to wear - I have a lovely pretty dress I often drag out for such occasions and it fits me at the mo (bonus!) but it's a pain to feed her in as access is not easily arranged. The only clothes that are easy to feed in are not dressed up enough for such an occasion. They really don't think of these things!!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Afternoon all !
Hope your all ok & hugs to the sleep deprived !
Friends cars busted the exhaust is boogered and it's gonna be expensive as she has to replace the catalytic converter too, so ended up with a long phone conversation, she's so stressed at the mo poor thing.
Scott is snooze feeding now next to me !
Re the routine question, we don't have a routine as such but typically he wakes around 6 or just before as hubby gets up then, I change & feed him on a pillow, he will drop off usually within 20 mins then snoozes til around 9:30 then will try and feed again and either leave him in bed if he snoozes again or get up. By lunchtime he will be usually down for nap downstairs (he will drop off while feeding then i transfer to pram) . He has jumperoo time obviously to tire him out if he hasnt snoozed! we do whatever during the rest iof the day and be usually naps late afternoon and we take him for last feed in our bed 9:30 ish and he will be transferred to crib asleep in our room by around 10:30.
The above always varies but I don't worry, I let him do what he wants but obviously if he goes say hours and hours without a nap then I just will tire him out in the jumperoo, he will drop off then transfer to pram.
I let him sleep when he wants to and never wake him unless there is a good reason after all I don't like to be woken lol
I know that if I put him to bed earlier at nite hubby would not see him but everyone's different with what works for them.
I know that my ex-boss used have 7 bedtime but this was because when she went back to work she knew she would wake them early so it was necessary etc so they got enough sleep etc, so depends a lot on your lifestyle.
I have thought about what happens when Scott gets bigger but we will keep a double bed in his room with the cotbed so him falling to sleep with one of us then Transferring should be fine as long as I can lift him lol !
Right enough rambling lol0 -
I need the 7 o clock bedtime for my own sanity. I need time to get things done/get dinner etc. It's just not possible unless I keep him in the highchair/jumperoo while I do them, but I don't really like doing that. He goes out like a light (most nights) at 7 anyway so I think he wants to go too.
He's learned a new trick today, bang on the highchair tray when he wants more food  how very rude!
Mozzy Are you in love with the jumperoo yet?The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

We try to get her down with curtains drawn and the house quite quiet around 7pm - just seems to be a sensible time to set as a precedent, rather than having to suddenly swap things around in a couple of months time. Generally after a bit of leg wiggling, breaking of wind and a few dummy escapes she's out for the count by about 7.30 - goes straight through till 10.30 when she gets a quick feed/nappy and then she's awake any time between 2-3am (seems to be getting later and shorter this feed - I can see her dropping it in the next month or so) for a quick refuelling before she sleeps till just before the alarm goes off at 6.30.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Ro, I love Erasure!! I made DH get tickets when they played Westonbirt last summer, told him once we were there that I knew all the words and was going to sing along and dance like a loon, then did so despite the thunder, lightning and hailstones while he sheltered under a groundsheet. It was ace (but probably a good thing he had already married me by then!!).
It's a bit odd though as most of the remainder of my record collection is rock and metal!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

No he didn't wee monkey. I've got him to sit a few times now but I've had to put him into position haha!
We started weaning at 17 weeks on the advice of the pediatrician, although they recommend waiting until 26 weeks now. No earlier than 17 weeks though as there little bodies can't digest the food properly.
Baby juice, I was told not to give it, as it's full of sugar and can hinder normal water intake. I did go and have a look in Boots but I was shocked at how much sugar was actually in it  I can't believe they're allowed to sell it labelled for babies, if that makes sense? So all mine has ever had is water, he doesn't seem to mind it at all
Sorry that came across as horribledidn't mean it like that. Just OH and I both have a sweet tooth and I really don't want A to develop one. I try to offer veg a lot more than fruit too to combat that problem.
Also my dress from DP's has arrived, hmmmmThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
