Aimless - a bit  enough at the prospect of weaning (though I am absorbing all the tips in preparation !) without adding to possibility of choking although I know you watch them etc I am just a chicken :rotfl:
I have got baby rice in preparation bit clueless how you prepare it will read the packet when the time comes ! Keep thinking you need to 'cook' it but think I'm being blond :D

You just mix it with milk... the part I hadn't really considered was the bit that said 'their usual milk'. Half the powdered stuff I bought says the same, and I don't have a pump, what a faff that is :D

Seren - how old is your LO now?

    Tc all

    Ro xx

    Hiya Ro,

    He's 16 weeks and 6 days :-D
He's put on a solid amount of weight and when I got him weighed at 15 weeks he was exactly double his birth weight at 16lb 12oz so my arms should be getting some form of workout.

he's started to get more co-ordinated and reach for things now and is good fun. He's also started noticing babies a lot more so I'm planning to eventually take him to a group. we have three sessions of baby massage group starting this thursday at the local surestart centre so maybe that will be a way of easing into it.

I dont' pop in here often enough but its good to hear peoples tips and how different people do stuff ;-D

H'es not quite sleeping through the night but very very almost he nornally does 7-3 then 4-5.30 then we listen to him talking in his cot for about an hour.

I need to try and fit some keep fit in but the only time I can think of really is about 6.30 before everyone gets up...that way OH can look after babs with minimum of effort before going to work...didn't quite manage it this morning - I always seem to talk myself out of getting up early by the time I've gone to sleep!
Hope everyone has a good day

    Hi ladies

I am now the proud owner of little Joseph, 10 days old today :) I have a quick question about that Ewen dream sheep toy thingy. I bought one as everyone had raved about them and was wondering what to do with it now (sounds stupid I know) Is it too early to put in his moses basket/carry cot? Apologies for the randomness of the question!

    Thanks xx

    Morning all,

Congrats Triangle, my baby being a newborn seems AGES ago (shes 11 months next week, sob sob). Hope you're finding everything ok? With regards to Shaun, I never had one, but if your LO is having trouble settling, I don't think it would do any harm to put him in the crib / moses with him?

Mozzy - DH did ok, she had a mammoth nap (3 hours) and so her feeds messed up, but she was alive and so was he by the end of the day! She woke at about 3.30 for an hour last night tho, so see how much patience he has today!! He got her dressed this morning and she had one sock (?) on? Not sure what offended him so much about the other?

We're trying new things for Azra's brekkie, this morning she had milk soaked rice crispies! She's growing up :( I'm even slowly switching to cows milk

    Hope everyone is ok x

Aimless, we make the porridge with cows milk although according to the guidelines Elliot is a bit young for it (shouldn't have it until 6 months). He'd seemed OK having a taster of yoghurt and.. erm.. ice cream and cheesecake, so we decided he'd be fine. His diet isn't quite as bad as that makes it sound, honest!

I went to a baby singing group once and Elliot slept through most of it. I'd have gone again if I could, but it's just not possible with work.

Hi Triangle! Congratulations! I have a Ewan. We didnt get ours until the PIL bought it for CJ at about 4 weeks, but we used it with her crib from then on. Never too early, but experiment with the sound levels. I find the loud setting too loud, and when it has new batteries in, even the normal setting seems loud, so i tend to put it further away from her head then. I also turned off the light, as it munches batteries and doesnt seem to do much for her!
For me, introducing things that can form a routine later, is one of the things i wish i'd done/known from the get go, like always using the same words to say night night, singing the same goodnight tune etc. It makes things so much easier later on.
