Hi Ro.. Cj is in her crib, has been since the beginning as we not had a Moses. We have used the pram carrycot downstairs, but she is too big for it now. Nye crib is starting to look small do gonna have to start thinking about getting a cot!

Re moses baskets,I pressume its not about size but when they are able to lift themselves up etc,as safety may be an issue then.

Amelie has a habit now of moving herself up the basket or carrycot,so have to keep sliding her back down again.

Elliot's still in his basket, got a couple of inches spare still! When he starts getting a bit more agile we'll move him to the cot as the basket sides aren't all that high.

Icey, we bath LO once a week, usually Sunday evening. We're too scared that he might poo to have him in a bath with us... Not that he's ever poo'd in his baby bath. Yet.

Crabapple, I'm very jealous of your 8 hours ;) Had a really bad night last night, no more than 2 hours between feeds :( At least I'd got a day off work today so it diidn't matter so much, think I'd have been too sleepy for any sensible work!

My little lady is still in her basket, probably will be for some time to come. Though the past few nights she has started to cry at around 2.00am and the only way she stops is to bring her into bed with me and hubby. I know its a bad habit but I love sleeping next to her warm little body and feeling her breath on my face (sounds slightly weird I know!) :D

We have a cot bed set up ready to use but that's in the spare room and she won't be going in there until she is off her oxygen. I put her in it for the first time the other day, she looked like a pea on a drum, its massive!!

Really interesting reading what you are all doing re Moses baskets. That's why I love this thread :D
I was wondering as the book I have was on about bout moving them out now because stand would not support basket properly, but I have mine in a crib so thought it would be ok for longer for Scott as his is not on a stand.
Jannine - I bring Scott into bed now after hubby goes to work for feeding and snoozing which is lovely too !

Scott is now immitating me with my bottom lip down like I am upset, it is so funny looking at him pull the face and then laugh :rotfl:
Wasn't so funny when he was pulling the face For real with full tears because he was abandoned whilst I had a shower  unfortunately the cot mobile had stopped its little tune....

LO stunned me last night by doing an 11.5 hours, then another 2! She was still asleep when i got her up to feed her after the 11.5, but the nappy only does 12 hours, and i didnt want her lying in an over wet nappy, and it leaking through.

    Evening Ladies,

Time I joined you on here, Caitlin was born 16th March and after being in the hospital for a week we have now been home for 2 weeks. This is the first oppotunity I have had to update the girls on the pregnancy thread and read back a few pages on here.

Can I ask some daft questions?
    • Do you wake your babies to feed them or do you let them sleep as long or short as they want then feed when they wake?
    • When in the day do you bath your baby? Do you bath them when they are grizzly or only when calm?
    • Have you bathed them with you? If so, do you just deal with the cooler water that is needed to suit them?
    Thanks!

    Hi Icey

In the first month, we woke him to feed at night every 4 hours, and during the day, every 3 hours.
We bath Charlie at night. At first he hated the bath - screaming and crying. But loves it now. We make the room nice and warm, and try make it as calm as possible. He loves bath time now.
He has started having 'big boy baths' with dad, and loves them. They have a soak together, letting him have a kick around, then we slowly wash him, finishing with the face and hair. Then he's passed to me, wrapped up, massaged with oil, and dressed. Then its feed, swaddle and bed. Its a routine that's working very well for us. He's put into bed still awake, and we only have to go up twice roughly to settle him again, which only takes around 10min.
But Charlie doesn't sleep during the day really, so sleeps well at night. He'll roughly to from 7:30-12:30, then awake at 4 then every 2hrs roughly from then.

Hi all, hope everyone is well :)

Just wanting some advice, i posted a while ago asking how much bottle fed babies were taking, Ava (4.5 weeks) is just feeding all the time. We've asked the HV previously and been told NOT to change her formula and NOT to give her hungry baby but i'm beginning to wonder about both.

She's currently on SMA 1st feed and seems to get terrible pains in her stomach and terrible wind from the bottom end. It's a constant every day and sometimes she's screaming. She has one poo a day so isn't constipated but seems in a lot of pain, it's quite upsetting to watch. I know a lot of people have had problems with SMA as apparently it's harder for baby to digest. Just wondering if anyone had a similar problem and changed formula with positive results?

As said above she's also constantly hungry, today she fed at 2am, 4am, 6am (not sure of amounts as DH did night feeds :) )9:30 5oz, 12 5oz, 4:30 5oz (slept a lot as we were in the car) 5:30 3oz and 7:30 4oz this just seems like a lot to me. According to HV her weight is going up fine and she's following the 75 percentile line on the graph but i'm not sure if eating a lot is adding to her painful tummy.

Any advice, experience would be greatly appreciated. We're going to get her weighed tomorrow so can speak to the HV again, no doubt they will label me a neurotic mother :) Might sound like a wimp but as DH is at work my mum is coming with me as i sometimes feel like i'm being fobbed off.

    Hi

Charlie was the same hun. We changed from SMA Gold to Aptimal, and things are much better now. Not sure if its the milk change or just him getting better, but we had no problems changing formula. At first he was feeding every 3/4hrs, but during the day now, he's roughly feeding every 2hrs. We're just going with it, if he's hungry, i'll offer him. I'm sure it'll go back to 3/4hrs at some point.
And if and when you do change, give it a few weeks to see the results. All's I know, is that he is definitely better than what he was :)
