Just wondered if any of you bought gifts for your OH when you had your baby?
Hell no! I just went through labour, forceps, episiotomy, tear, oppoing myself in front of strangers, and 9 months of carrying round a great lump (all 9lb 7oz of her!). Little one was the present i gave him. LOL.

Yikes, 9lb 7!! Well done you!!
Mine was 8lb 5 and that was enough.
I did have to really hint that I wanted a present for all my hard work in labour, I think my Mum helped him out picking it too.

Why on earth did he give the chocolate away, is he mad lol!! Think I'll have a googlea nd see what gifts I can find
He has this strange thing where he will never buy me chocolate, I think because he thinks i'll get fat! He doesn't seem to realise I have made room for it in my daily diet.Annoyed he didn't think of offering it to the teen tho, unless he's already got something for them.

I've spent more time with Harry today. I got his mat out and we played with his rattles and bells for a bit, and I chatted away to him and he just stares as he does (I'm so wanting him to smile so that I know he's enjoying himself). I've also sorted out his bedroom - he's going to have a proper bedtime routine now, and although it's his dad's turn to look after him when he gets home from work, I'm going to try and put him to bed so that I can read his books to him/give him a cuddle before bed. Chris can obviously come up too if he likes, and then we can take turns once the routine is established
Well that's the plan anyway. So I've got rid of the moses, and put the bumpers in the cupboard until he's old enough to have them back out.

Not quite as bad here, but I did have the exact same thought - I carried around his child for months, ending up waddling on the rare occasions I was able to move, and spent a good number of hours giving birth to her. She was all the present he was getting! And I didn't get anything from him either, although he did make a little sign saying welcome home and put balloons around it for when I got released.
(I still think of it as being released like I was in prison, I HATED the maternity ward!!)
Fredula, didn't get on to comment earlier, but glad you are thinking more positive with a plan and have done some chatting with your LO. It must be harder having the grandparents there all the time and wanting to be involved. Must admit to being a bit horrified at your MIL doing skin-to-skin with him too. DH does it and I like that, but wider family seems a bit odd.
If he's staring at you that's a great thing - he will smile in due course, but right now he's taking in the sound of your voice and your face and knowing you are mummy. He's learning how to do faces and sounds too, even if you don't get much back right now, it's all being stored up for later.:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Hello all !
Just a quick one
Fredula- glad that you had a good natter with LO and made some changes which sound very positive x
Re the discussion on post birth pressies, no did not get anything for hubby and no he did not get me anything. My mum was the star and brought me gifts including butlers chocolates which I ate the first night home after hospital, they kept me going through the early hours! Got a lovely locket from Scottfor mothers day so at least one male member shows his appreciation
by the way if you do have a locket Hubby realised when you get your digital photos printed the small summary photos in colour are roughly the right size to pop in not sure if all online digital prints have the same summary prints but thought it was quite a nice use for them.
Hubby did help last night is we both sat downstairs for once and actually went to bed at the same time for the first time in months!! Think he was missing cuddling Scott, he managed to get him to laugh properly which was quite cute.0 -
hello, hope everybody is having a good day
Just back from hospital where LO had a whole battery of blood samples taken....and she smiled through it allOn the other hand I didn't feel so smiley and needed to remind myself that it was actually being done for her benefit

Koalamummy - that must be so hard for you but glad you have got it over with and hope LO ok Ro xx0

Thanks Ro
I am pretty certain everything is fine but as her growth and weight gain seems to have accelerated up through then off the centile charts they want to check that there is nothing sinister causing it. Apparently she should not be growing at the rate she is especially with the food refusal and limited formula intake.0
