Our cat just bought me a sock. She looked very pleased with herself for tackling such dangerous prey, and needed lots of head rubs as a reward.

I love that image! We've had socks before - next door used to have young children that left them about in the garden when playing. My personal favourite gift, delivered with lots of proud miaows, was a washing up sponge. Thing is, it wasn't the type we use so we had no idea who's house he had raided!!

Mum texted to say she had no news but had been told to go back in at 7.15. Just waiting for her to go in and then let us know. Been a long afternoon waiting :(. Thanks for the kind wishes, I really appreciate it.

Hope you get some news soon.

Elliot is much happier after a couple of hours sleep so fingers crossed that we have a good night.

Had a major panic when changing him as I could see huge flames roughly where our hedge is, with the chickens right next to it. After screaming fire at DH he rushed outside and it was luckily just the angle I was looking from, it was actually in next doors garden. :o It was for a sad reason though, as now our neighbour has passed away they are clearing her house, and couldn't get the furniture out from upstairs. They broke it up and threw it out the window before setting it alight. However given that our neighbour was always so cheery and liked her parties, I imagine if she'd still been around she'd have wanted to know why there weren't fireworks and sherry to go with the bonfire.

:jAll okay, I can relax now! Dad is staying in tonight for observation but should be out in the morning as all seems to have gone well. Apparently he will need the next treatment in about 6 weeks, but we won't worry so much now he's been through it once.

Sorry about your neighbour Bluebell. I quite like the idea that they should make it a party in her honour! If they aren't, you should raise a glass of something to her.

One of my friends wants some of her ashes to go into fireworks when she goes (hopefully not for a few decades yet!). I put in my Will that I want to be late for my own funeral - would be a shame to break the habit of a lifetime :rotfl:

Hi everyone :D I lurk on here still, don't get a chance to post much though. Hope you're all ok...

Bluebell - you're lucky you get socks! Last weekend we had two (or the same one twice...) field mice...! On Saturday night my cat was going mental trying to find something in the living room but at first we assumed it was just one of those big house spiders, as he's never brought in anything bigger than an earthworm before (he does like to dig up big juicy earthworms though...) then my OH managed to see what he was after and it was a little mouse. We managed to catch the little thing and I put it outside then on Monday morning as my OH was leaving for work he saw he had another one! Again, it was caught and put outside... Having grown up in the countryside with very good hunter cats I don't mind when they bring animals in but to be honest I'd much rather they were dead as it makes them a lot easier to catch! Chasing a mouse round the living room at 1am was not fun!

My little monkey is a snuffly monkey at the moment, but only at 5am though... The past two night's she's woken me up around now by being all bunged up, poor little thing. I got some nasal spray the other day which seemed to help, hopefully it won't last long...

Also had been trying to find some of this as it does not smell like a swimming pool when used !! It's for cold water sterilisation and I like it because you can easily do a small bowl if you want to...

Obviously only any good if you are ordering anyway as there is delivery charge!
