Morning all. Ro, I don't have any bright ideas to avoid 'boob monster' but I hope you get it sorted so you can feed him the way you want to.
Thanks for all the comments and advice on the jabs. There was a delayed reaction on the first one, perhaps she was processing what had happened, and then she went bright red so fast and screamed. Think that distracted her from the second! As soon as I got her in her carrier after she went to sleep. I know it's for the best and glad those ones are done now (and that I didn't cry too!).
She was really sleepy so glad I expected that. Went down properly last night at 9 after some food, but didn't wake until I encouraged her to at 5am. She was wriggling a bit at 1 when I was awake and I tried to feed her but she was too tired to even think about it. Now having a long breakfast though so not worried. She does have a little bit of a temperature so have had to give her some calpol. I think more came back out of her and down her clothes than went in, but I'll keep an eye on it and hope not to have to give her any more.
And Ro, I told the dr (who was very nice and good with LO) about the 'hats' and he told me that they are only 60-70% effective but by the sounds of it I wouldn't mind if I got pregnant again! I had only said that I didn't want long term contraception because if we do decide to have more children my age means we can't take too long about trying.:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Hello all !
Crabapple- glad LO ok and hopefully temp will be fine. It is a bit disconcerting that they have a mammoth sleep ! Sadly have to go through whole rigmarole again think its four weeks time will have to check
Am so glad my dr is not male....... !! As for the effectiveness of condoms are his figures based including those who don't errr 'put it on properly, don't bother etc' think its 98% in a perfect world and a well trained oh :rotfl: still can't believe u are already thinking about another LO  though understand if the age thing is rearing ugly head. I think to myself no way again think my body would pack up and go on holiday ...!!
Dreading tomorrow will be glad to get it over with but it's not until late afternoon, just hope LO is ok.

Oooh just discovered pampers are washable at 60 degrees......:eek:0

Thanks Ro. She seems okay in herself apart from wanting a LOT of food this morning! Is squiggling and talking to me and quite bright eyed so I am trying not to worry too much.
It is four weeksmight make DH take her next time...
I'm pretty sure the dr was talking about the recent study that said people put them on inside out then turn them round, open the packets with scissors, or take them off half way through!!
DH and I discussed before I even got pg that ideally we don't want an only child. If we had the money for me to be off I'd happily start trying any time, but once SMP runs out money will be beyond tight. I've already joked with DH about having another (would be hard right now with the key requirement not happening :rotfl:). I'd be 37 when the next one came along even if we caught immediately and all went smoothly, but I'm bf and no idea if ov yet and it was 11 months after we ditched contraception that we made LO, so waiting to try is not ideal. Just need to win the lottery.:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Ladies, just a quick reminder incase any of you didn't know, SMP increases from 1st of april to just over £135 per week. Worth keeping an eye out to make sure your employere remembers to increase it!0

Kimberley - re your other posts about daughter refrigerating formula, I do it ! (make up with boiling, add powder, into bowl cold water and into fridge, use within 24 hours) was too scared to post in your thread
too much if a heated topic for some  .
I couldn't find the thread so it must have been removed. Thats how we do the bottles, refridgerate straight after cooling under cold water.
Little Ollie is still not satisfied on breast and is still a little Jaundice. Midwifes won't sign her off until he has had an appointment in April about the Jaundice. I didn't think they would leave it so long. When my daughter was born and had Jaundice she went into radiotherapy straight away so can't understand why they don't do it with all babies that have Jaundice. He is just over 2 weeks old.0 -
Hi everyone I hope you are all ok
Amy has been discharged from the hospital and we are still playing catch up with sleep. Turns out she had bronchiolitis and another infection on top of that! She's been back at doctors today, shes now got a !!!!!!!g eye infection and has drops.
I dunno, she makes a late entry into the world then puts me through that - If I didnt know better I would say she is an attention seeker
Anyway was just letting you all know she is ok, Thanks for the wishes

Hi Ladies,
Its been quiet on here for the past few days, we must all be so tired looking after our LO's! I have been reading, but not posting much. Had a few appointments and had a rough time with Poppy, but we are doing better now.
Feeling so tired, Poppy still wants feeding every 2 hours, day and night! I could set my watch on her waking up at 12.00am, then 2.00am, then 4.00am etc!!
Feeling a bit out of sorts with myself and had a few falling outs with my husband. He has just bought a new bike and is spending lots of time out on that after work and at the weekends. I'm mainly stuck in the house during the day so look forward to him coming home to help with Poppy and for the company. I know I'm being selfish and I am pleased he has a hobby, but I just feel lonely.
I took Poppy for her jabs yesterday and she didn't make a peep, the HV was quite surprised! I think she has had that many procedures she just doesn't seem to mind! She was grizzly yesterday evening though and very upset when I got her home. I asked the Doctor if I could give her Calpol but due to some of her medication he said no.
Still having big problems with the projectile vomiting after nearly every feed, I can't tell you how many times I've washed my cushion covers recently! I'm seeing the Consultant Paed on Thursday so hopefully he will increase her reflux medication or suggest something else.
Hope everybody else is OK.
Take care

Hello all
Mimi - hope Amy is ok x
Kira - up until couple of weeks ago he has Been given boob first for as long as he wants (except evening when I go to sleep early) he normally would take it for a few minutes and then would give him formula, no trouble except occasionally shuffling as have prop him on pillows (if he missed a feed would take the next one). He has only had a small amount of boob all along.
He now if I think is in a stonk, very hungry/tired just prefers bottle so screams at boob, I also think he lays more comfortably with bottle.
I am loathe to give in as when he is in the mood he takes it fine and I like to give him both. Have been really stressing but have decided not to persist if he screams and try and express just a little (which I hate!! And had stopped a while ago) just to try and keep things Ticking over. All I want is him to have at least one boob feed a day.
Yesterday morning took him to bed and managed it fine, did not pressure him during the day, expressed 30 ml (I know !! Every little counts....) which he had in the evening (he had a projectile sick episode). Tonite he has done fine on cushions no objections so will just continue seeing if will take and expressing once a day if doesn't.
Oooh that took a while to write down ... U don't have to read it kira!! But that's why havent investigated tongue tie as think he is just being contrary! He sadly has got to an age where he knows bottle gives him food quicker so.....
But i know what its like to have a contrary baby!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hello all !
Nice to see a few familiar faces
Crabapple- I have heard of men who apparently wear their underpants one way then turn them inside out but doing that with their swimming hats
Re another LO hopefully it won't be long before the time is rightwe need a lottery syndicate on here
we are managing on hubby's not large salary and packed up work before got pg so it's little tight
Lisa - ooh could do with some smp but sadly no one will give me any..
Kimberley - it seems like a lot has changed in the nhs, I don't know much about jaundice only that they can put them under lights to help, Scott had it very mildly so did not have to do anything. Hope your daughters baby gets rid of the jaundice soon. Sorry to hear LO is not good with the bf, really feel for your daughter, she is lucky to have you to help.
Jannine - you are doing so much and no you are not being selfish ! I look forward to hubby coming home too. It must be difficult not to take the stress out on each other after what you have both been going through. Hopefully you can find time to talk things through. The pv sounds horrid too, scott had done it twice this week so big hugs xx
Mimi - glad to hear Amy is home and she is ok xx
Kira - thnk there are a few contrary babies around
Been trying to get LO down to 6 bottles a day for a while but he quite often acts all hungry and wastes a bottle. He also tends to have smaller feeds on occasion, the steriliser is getting some use !
