Best wishes to Jenjade and Ellie!

GP gave us a script to treat our thrush, hopefully Seb will feel like eating again soon and my nipple should feel less like it is on fire.

Gilly - glad you had a good GP and hope they can get something sorted for you all. It's awful to know they are upset and in pain and not be able to do much for them.

Carmilla that does not sound nice, so glad you've got some treatment sorted and should be back to normal soon.

Ro, although I'm happy to pretend to be 21 for a good while longer I don't think it's going to work! I'm 37 next birthday and DH just turned 43. He wasn't overly happy about the number, but it was his first birthday as a husband and a father so I got him suitable cards and they made him cry - especially the one to daddy from our daughter!

I'm currently typing over the top of LO who is supposed to be feeding but mostly seems to be trumping one end and gnawing on me at the other, in between having hiccups!

Hi!! Yeh sorry, been awol. Having a bit of a nightmare with my baby boy. Since yesterday he just won't settle.Had about 2hrs sleep last night and about 3hrs night before. He keeps waking up and starts screaming and won't calm down for ages. We've fed him, winded him, changed nappy, cuddled.......he's just not a happy chappy. His temp is ok and midwives today checked him over and reckon he's fine. He's an avid hand sucker too!! And if his hands aren't searching out his mouth, they're clawing at his eyes.
But we're still learning as parents, so am sure there's a rational reason for him being so unsettled.

Feeding wise, he won't latch. Midwife tried with me today too. He seems horrified by the breast lol. But as soon as I put on a nipple shield, problem solved. So for now, instead of giving up, i'm doing that. And if he isn't getting enough, we're topping him up with SMA first milk.

We've just topped and tailed him, he was screaming throughout, so have just swaddled him and put him in his bed, and all quiet for now. At least his little hands aren't causing trouble. We've had socks and mittens on them today, but neither last!

Me - my stitches are hurting quite badly. TMI ALERT!! I managed to finally have a bowel movement the other day after 2hrs of agony. It was really painful and dreading them next!! I know my tear and cut was quite bad and its going to take time to heal, its just frustrating that it limits what I can do and feel its getting in the way of my bonding with Charlie.
Plus, when I dabbed down there today, I'm pretty sure i saw a part of a stitch on the toilet paper

Might have to make docs appointment to make sure all is ok down there. I don't want to look myself. I don't want to see how bad it is.

Hope everyone is doing well. So glad this forum is here for advice and support :)

Mozzy, keep an eye on it, please. We had a baby like that and we've been diagnosed with reflux today, so if he's still as irritable in a week, go and see your GP. We've suffered for 3 weeks, and I dread to think of the pain my boy has been in.

I'm not struggling with bowel movements, but feel constipated quite a lot, I've a feeling though that's more down to my diet at the moment, as I'm eating not very much, and no fruit or veg at all  I am going frequently it's just not easy to go really. Probably TMI :rotfl: sorry for those of you eating dinner.

Well Aaron has had 2 feeds with his baby gaviscon, and all seems to be going well for the time being, still a teeny bit cranky but other than that, very good. Taking his feed, having a wee cuddle for 20/30 minutes to get his food digest and then going straight down, on his back  could not believe it.

I have the Health Visitor tomorrow and I cannot wait to tell her that he has reflux, and that he wasn't just bored, yes my HV told me to stick one of his baby cards in the side of his pram and that would entertain him when he was screaming  Great advice...

Hope all is going as good as it can be today Jen xx

Its good to hear that aaron is feeling better gilly :-)

Mozzy, i completly forgot to say last time that i used to squish my brea.st into the same shape aand direction as jacobs mouth to get my nipple in far enough to get him to suck. He is slightly tongue tied and this really helped, might help you too kira? If you want to get his tongue snipped then i would suggest going private to get it done, the nhs can be really unhelpful with tongue tie. It costs 75pound here to get done.

    Hi Lucy! Thanks

Gilly will do, good advice, thanks!

Just fed him, I'm sure we're giving him too much though, but he always wants it. Bf him earlier with the nipple shields for almost an hour, and he still cried shortly afterwards. So gave him 50ml formula which he also had....

Cheers! Will give that a go tomorrow. Midwife suggested starting off in nipple shield to get him happily sucking, then slipping it off and trying latching him.
